► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. Little Easter Egg:

Every time you die by The Minotaur, Hypnos asks you for his autograph since he is a big fan. With enough deaths, Zag eventually asks him for one, and him being the nice guy he is gives it to him. Hypnos is really happy when Zag gives it to him.

  2. Normally the bow attack pierces foes, so you always see the full range trajectory when you're aiming. Chain shot stops on the first enemy and then just sort of bounces to the next one (doesn't need to be lined up). Hence the illusion that the range is really short.

  3. Dark Foresight(more boon/pom/health rooms) is very important, you can clearly feel the lack of boons on this run.
Chiron bow is very build dependent for it to give high dps, try artemis/dio on the special with aphro/ares on the attack, and you'll love it.
Forced Overtime is easily the scariest heat option. You had chill in this run so that mitigated some of it, but it'll need practice to get used to. Also I suggest keeping tight deadline on if you are practicing for 32 heat, 9 mins is usually a free heat option, and if your dps is good, you can also do 7 min.

  4. Re:Hangover, yeah, it would be 64 damage over… per stack, with a maximum of 5 at the same time, so the dps could be much bigger.
On the other hand, it would only be those 8 hangover damage per stack causes by that contagion effect, while the normal stacks would still only do 5 hangover damage (or 25 total per damage). They do add up quickly with rapid hitting weapons tho.

Same goes for Chill stacks. Sure, 4% slowdown seems little, but Demeter boons have one of the biggest damage modifiers and can stack up to 10 times for a way more noticeable 40% slowdown (plus counting for privileged status plus other nifty effects like the poison damage if every enemy is chilled or the 10 stacks blasts of damage).

As for Chain Shot, yeah, the shot does the work on its own, no need to line up anything. The shot will seek the nearest enemy if close enough, given the bow a bit more of area control.

As for getting Chaos boons that give damage percentage increase to low damage rapid hitting weapons, they are still super useful because they affect everything in that specific attack, including things like hangover damage or bolts from Zeus, so they're always useful!

  5. You had a great boon that restored your health to 50% after each encounter that never activated since you spend a lot of gold to keep it above… Not efficient.
Also if the alternative to Charon is a boon you want you should always choose it since it is free and what you want. Charon MIGHT have sth better but it would be expensive. As long as you do not end up with more gold than you can spend in the last shop, saving gold is a good option.
PS: Q&A appendix: I've noticed that youtube does not add "@commenter" if I answer to a 1st tier comment. Should I add that manually or does your comment section indicate that already automatically (that this is a comment to someone's comment and not to the vid directly)?

  6. You're right about Fated Authority. You can only re-roll rooms into their own set of rewards.
    Overall Currency rewards: Gems/Darkness/Key/Nectar.
    In Run rewards: Coin/Gods/Hammer/Pom/Heart.

Charon shop not included on either. Nectar can give a random Pom and health if you got the Dionysus boon for it on the run so can be worth rolling into.

BTW… thank you for introducing me to this game. Super fun and probably wouldn't have tried it without your let's play as I'm not usually a fan of rogue likes/lites. :p

  7. Holy shit, congrats on overcoming those initial difficulties! Double congrats on getting the final Bow upgrades for the prophecy! And triple congrats for getting the unlock phrase for the final aspect of Malphon! This was a run of enormous progress both on your skill and your unlocks!

  8. The advantage to the tracking special is in quickly applying ailments to bosses. You have, say, hangover on your attack and weak on your special you can almost guarantee getting both on a boss within a second of each other. For general mobs it is less useful as it tracks only the last mob hit so you rely on having a useful cast to make up for it.

  9. I watch Haelian so I know what the Fists Aspect is like, and I'm pretty hype. imo definitely amenable to Tight Deadline far more than the Bow. avoid hammers, they don't seem to help that Aspect much from what I've seen.

also if you really want to finally get those Duo boons, use the Olympian's keepsakes for crissakes.

  10. Always having fun with your playthrough, thank you.
I think you need more practice with dashing skill, because you still getting hit even having athena dash.

And yeah, athena call is really doing a great job, especially when you running on high heat.

and oh, one more thing. If you realy like to take boons, you may consider to choose Family Favorite instead of Privilege Status for the mirror. 🙂

  11. To answer your question, you don't need to do anything else now to further the dialogue chain you've started with the Hermes/Lucky Tooth interaction! 🙂

Also, I haven't tried it myself, but I read another player say that you can safely attack Hades while doing his mega-laser attack in Phase 2 if you're right on top of him, so you could be right that that's a safe zone!

  12. 😒 Sisyphus stop trying to turn Zag against his friends/lovers. Not cool.

But then again dude was a manipulative and seriously twisted individual who locked Thanatos in a basement for who knows how long. I really wish there were other options to deal with Sisyphus, dude just makes my skin crawl.
