► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. cluster bomb + rocket bomb for the rail is a good combo. rocket bomb turns your special into an RPG type blast instead of the floaty default special. with cluster bomb, does a lot of damage close range, kinda like a shotgun.

  2. I think the rail is objectively the hardest weapon to use because of its skill requirements. It was the last one to be added so I guess the devs wanted something different and challenging.

Zeus attack is among the best for the rail due to his boon giving a flat dmg up instead of a % (a % dmg up is bad caus the rail has low base dmg but high speed).

Poseidon's special pushing everyone away (even from your your own special), definately made stuff chaotic and hard to keep up with.

I hope you get to see Thanatos and stuff with Charon before you end…
Getting closer to 10 won runs, keep going! 😀

  3. The struggle with that weapon and build made the run pretty hilarious tbh 😀
Something I only noticed recently in the codex about people, sometimes it says "you need more conversations" and sometimes "you need to deepen your relationship", I think the first means you can still progress with a normal talk, and the second only a gift will make more progress, though even in that case you can still have more talks that will all be different, so not entirely sure how it really works.
ps: doing a "normal" run even if you have already beaten the 3 first bosses and only need Hades is worth it imo, it will net you a lot of darkness at each boss you've previously passed.

  4. Hey, great series so far! Just a quick explanation on the gun – if you use the dash to reload, you have to stand still coming out of the dash to reload. It's a useful panic move, but definitely not the meta or something you wanna rely on. If you reload manually, you can run normally while reloading, which assists with repositioning. Just FYI 🙂

  5. Not sure how much of the backstory for Patroclus and Achilles' relationship the game will cover, but if you're thinking of pursuing I highly recommend the book Song of Achilles. It explores their relationship and it's beautiful

  6. Ignited Ichor – 10 coins, 20% movement, 8 encounters – always seemed like a pretty good deal to me. Yes, it's temporary… but it's 10 coins. Regarding Patroclus: the myth was worth reading, at least back in the day. Achilles was with the Greeks at the siege of Troy. He argued with Agamemnon, and refused to let his own forces take the field. Patroclus donned the armor of (and posed as) Achilles at a critical moment and led the Myrmidons into battle – to great effect – but was killed by Hector. Achilles grieved, and later sought vengeance.

He felt strongly enough that he mutilated the body of Hector for twelve days, to the point that the gods interceded.

Never liked Exagryph (though it is quite powerful with Athena's reflect boon for attacks). The last conversation with Persephone. I'm assuming the gods are trying to find her so Demeter will release the Earth from ice. She and Hades will come to an agreement, resulting in the seasons. I can see why Persephone just wants to be left alone in her garden.

  7. You've asked a couple of times now so I wanted to point out: Trippy Shot doesn't actually deal hangover, just slows things down inside. Kind of like how Demeter beams don't deal Chill unless you upgrade them.

  8. The dialogue really differs quite a lot. There are a lot of things that have happened in my game that have not happened in this one, but there are things that have happened here that have not in mine. Even how Eurydice and Orpheus find out about eachother is different in my game.

  9. Exagryph's Aspect of Eris is one of the most powerful aspects of any weapon in the game, a preferred choice by speedrunners for just how quickly it can tear enemies down whenever you absorb its blasts.

  10. Nyx is VERY lawful to the point that she will follow the letter of the "law" (or in the case here, her promise), but no more or no less than that. She promised she would never tell Zag the truth, but she never promised she wouldn't help him discover it on his own.

  11. The quintuple bomb upgrade combined with the upgrade that turns the bombs into rockets is amazing- it turns Exagryph into a missile shotgun. Speaking of shotguns, the upgrade that turns your attack into a shotgun blast is really good with the Aspect of Zagreus fully upgraded.

  12. I might have an answer to your question about all the red blood comments in the game.
In greek mythology the blood of gods, which is called "ichor" by the way, isn't red. It's usually described as golden. I think other Immortals (like Titans) have golden blood as well, but I'm not sure.
