Game Description:

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what’s really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.

BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

  1. Watching your Hades runs have honestly become one of the few highlights in my life during this miserable time of quarantine. Maybe that sounds depressing, I don’t know, lol. In any case keep it up. 👍

  2. Never been this addicted to one of your lets plays before. Really enjoyable watch. Really sucks that we have to wait 3 days each time, but i still think the decision to include a full run is correct.
I'm guessing there will be delays as well with the upcoming xmas/new years? Not that i blame you of course.

  3. 38:10 You only get the guaranteed boon once from each keepsake, but you still keep the improved rarity chance (there is an icon on the keepsake that gets turned into a ribbon once you get the boon, and does not revert when you go to a different area/biome).
46:20 Yeah, despite the low crit chance pressure points is decent because it applies to all kinds of damage, including "status effects" (like hangover).

  4. 0:32 You beat the Minotaur in the single battle, but you lost last time to the boss battle of Theseus & the Minotaur together, which is more of what this is referring to, I think. Hypnos is only referring to the Minotaur specifically because it seems he's a fanboy of him.

  5. Kind of repeating myself here (sorry!), but with the shield, Block/Bull rush should be one of your main moves (if not the main move), with the swipe/special being more rare. Bull rush is really good and right now you're using it once in a blue moon!

  6. My first win was: shield with doom on special, lots of hp, some Hermes mobility buffs, and some other less important boons. Shield and doom and mobility was enough.

  7. 23:13 "if i can get a chain attack it would be really strong" Hangover was already on your chain attack! You ignore powerful choices (and ones encouraged by fates) in favor of repeating habitual pickups too often.

  8. I never liked the shield special, because the concept of giving up a shield's ability to block feels like too steep of a price for me.
Being trigger happy for Chaos Gates is a good thing, their disproportionately powerful rewards can carry you through Elysium when you roll crappy boons.
    >You can stunlock it?
I'm not 100% sure on this but enemies without armor get staggered when they take >X amount of damage, letting you be more aggressive if you are confident you can interrupt their attack mid-animation.

  9. So the god trinket doesn't reapply every world, but the first few god you get have much much higher chance to reappear, hence why you might keep the trinket to get stronger boons from that particular god.

  10. (Editing as we go!)
27:45 Yeah, there's 2 upgrades that will triple in total the rewards for those chests. Until then, they're only so-so worth it. Also, about that room, you can dash through scenery and across that negative space. You can't fall in or anything, so feel free to dash strike away.
You CAN actually turn gems into diamonds at the market shade in the lounge! Exchange rate sucks, but… possible. 1 Diamond <- 10 Nectars <- 50 Keys <- 500 Gems.
42:50 No, sadly. Only explanation of abilities is in your weapons room practicing on Skelly, which is only a single target. So to clarify: the shield bounces once by default, hitting up to 2 enemies, unless you get the hammer upgrade that lets it bounce 4 more times per throw. That can also be combined with a future ability that lets you throw more shields… Should be getting to that soon.
46:02 Most attacks will stunlock anything without armor (except bosses, of course). I believe… the only exception is a weapon you don't have yet.
Oof, that is unfortunate. Drunk Captain America is a great build for the Hydra especially.
51:52 Oh… Well, that's disappointing. Bit of a reveal there spoiled by the book itself. Ah well.

  11. It seems you really underestimated the hangover damage you could do on this one. Hangover is very powerfull when you can stack it, and you were able to do it with your quick (and bouncing) special.

  12. You can turn gems into diamonds at the vendor. It just… takes a lot of them. Basically if you wanna do that, you buy keys for gems, nectar for keys and diamonds for nectar. Before successful escape this is one of only two methods of getting them, once you beat Hydra with all of your weapons that is.

  13. I found for me the best way to use the shield is tank then punish. Enemies like Megara and the Minotaur become laughably easy because they literally just can't hit you unless they do a Shockwave under your feet

  14. Not to be dramatic or anything, but Aegis is honestly my favourite weapon ever. Idk if I'd call it the most satisfying playstyle, but it's hilariously OP once you get the hang of it. I mean like when I first played Hades I got out four times with the shield before I made it out with any other weapons. …tho it also kind of fucked me cause I got used to just standing still and blocking attacks, which is a very not fun muscle memory to have when trying to fight with literally any other weapon.
