Your enthusiasm is so damn infectious my friend. Honored to again grace your channel 🙂
Also that Spanish guitar vibing over this. <CHEF'S KISS>
I just have to give an immediate like for bringing up In Rainbows in a Hades video! Combining two things I love, Radiohead and Supergiant, makes this a good day for me. If you don't mind me asking, favorite Radiohead song and album? In Rainbows and Daydreaming for me.
Would you do Nioh OST next?
Also good to mention that the names of the different musical modes are based off of different things from ancient Greece – islands, people, etc!
You know what's also amazing? Darren Korb, the composer, is the voice of Zagreus and Skelly 😀
Also, this made me fire Hades back up – great video as always! That 8:06 tiny remix still kills me just like the first time
Been a subscriber since your Shadowbringers Main Theme video, absolutely love how you break down music in a way that a layman can understand. Keep up the awesome work, Alex!
Your wardrobe is always an added bonus as well. Next project… Alex Moukala Fashion?

Regarding the comment of the soprano male vocals, I dunno if this is true or not but I read online that male singers in ancient Greece were expected to be able to sing in soprano since it was the preferred vocal style for singers of both gender. Orpheus, the character who is singing the song with his wife Eurydice, was known for having one of the softest and sweetest voices of all the singers of his time. So kudos to the composers for getting that aspect of his character correct.
The sound that reoccurs reminds me a bit of one of the Risk of Rain 2 songs, the one from Sky meadow, maybe not that similar but it comes to mind and that song I can listen to for hours
Hey, Alex, please react to the Soulcalibur V OST. It's got tracks by known names such as Inon Zur, Cris Velasco, etc.
It always brightens my day seeing a new vid from you. 'Grats on the Composer of FFXIV noticing you.
I recommend looking at Supergiant's other works, like Transistor. Specifically, In Circles.
For something more obscure, I'd recommend the OST from Othercide.
Oh shit its a Hades OST reaction vid from Alex! IN THE NAME OF HADES I ACCEPT THIS VIDEO
another great video, Alex!
Obviously I came in here expecting some serious music theory analysis, so that part wasn't a surprise. What really blew me away though was the deep knowledge of the game itself, not just the lore but game mechanics too. Excellent video.
Day 1 of requesting full version Bury the funk
I'm so glad to see a Hades video, and while I realize the instrumentals are the main focus of these videos I wish you could have covered Lament of Orpheus or even Good Riddance, particularly when Eurydice and Orpheus are reunited. Lament of Orpheus made me stop playing for a good 15 minutes just so I could keep listening to it, and the effect-change that occurs when you go to your bedroom is a wonderful touch.
I really liked that he acknowledged Hades Doom Eternal arrangement, which I hope encourages the author to do a full soundtrack in Doom Eternal vibe
Please React to BEFORE LIGHTS OUT ost of Attack on Titan
Please make a full version of the song with the Spanish guitar and base that went so hard dude like it had no right to bro!
It sounds less Egyptian and more Mediterranean, which makes more sense given that they're Greek gods
Really great presentation and great topic to present. I'm always down for more Hades soundtrack material!
OMG I cannot believe that I am catching this so shortly after post, and I am so happy I did.
Alex, you are so great. Thank you for doing everything that you do.
Thanks for the breakdown Alex!
Have you ever considered making a bandcamp with full versions of the songs you edit, like "Hades with Spanish Guitar" or "Hades Bloodborne Style?" I swear some of the edits you make sound so unbelievably good. If you ever did I'd buy the lot of them in a heartbeat.
"Egyptian metal". Time to go listen to Shokran 🤘🏻
Yooo I love how you break down this song! Hades has such a solid soundtrack, it's so fun! I like how in Austin Wintory's notes on the orchestration for In The Blood, someone noticed that the song integrates both motifs from Hades (the overarching musical motif in the game) but also the flourishes that come from Persephone's theme (the later portion of On the Coast). Orpheus and Eurydice sings the duet at the credits sequence (as Ashley Barrett & Darren Korb also provide their singing voices). In a way the song serves as the homecoming for Persephone and Zagreus to the House of Hades. 😊
That Spanish guitar addition's amazing! As well as the funky bassline too! Heck yeah!
I love when youmake everything sound like Bloodborne!
I propose that you should break out Spanish guitar more often. Also hope this isn't the last of Hades on the channel. If you like breaking down boss themes, God of the Dead + The Unseen Ones (in one take) is a must now! An interview with Darren about how that last addition came together would be great to see too.
I absolutely love your channel! Supergiant makes some great soundtracks, so glad you’re covering Hades!
