W BUILD
I think neither is necessarily better than the other. Itβs the variety that keeps things interesting. Do 32 heat for a while, then speedy for a while. Honestly I just look forward to learning, and listening to the random topics you talk about.
There really is something to be said for both. When I first play a new game, I like to play on medium, but if I like the game enough to replay it, I will almost always bump it up to hard. Consequenceless powertrips are boring.
32 heat with a bad build is a slog to play and watch. Do 15 heat for goofy builds, it's probably more fun for both of us.
I like to play games for fun mostly. Don't have that much time in a day left to go for challenge runs. However in a game like Hades it's fun to slowly ramp up the difficulty in a predictable manner.
I've actually never seen thunder flare in action before that is so goofy
And I'm personally speaking fine with either length of the video, whatever heat is fun for you go for that i feel
Idea for future video: modded all Hermes boon run, 32 heat. Basically a solo god but make it Hermes, who has unique boons but no core boons obviously.
I really dig the arguments on Hades about a game being not so heavily focus on "dexterity" or eye/hand coordination. A bit of it is necessary, and learning the mechanics of enemies, but I start being good at the game when I understood how to build a strategy of play style with the different boons, how to use (and abuse) keepsakes and the importance of the well of charon, that is insanely good when you look at it.
13:00 souls games are more obtuse than hard, which is honestly a disservice to the series. It's also why there isn't really room for an "easy" mode, because easy mode is literally just actually explaining mechanics like poise and rolling in game.
I like 32 Heat vids more than Speedruns but that's because I like it when you pause and explain your thoughts on stuff while you're doing the run
Maybe an IGN speedrun then instead, go fast but you get some break time in menus? π
Love your play
For what heat these runs should be, I mostly just want to see an EM4 fight just to see how the build stacks up against the only remotely challenging fight in the game
Ape Out
For myself I like challenging myself and playing on higher difficulties in games where there is progression. When I play rogue likes and am far enough along that I have unlocked everything or most of everything I generally take a more chill approach on a moderate difficulty and just enjoy the vibe of the game because dying repeatedly feels horrible and makes me feel like I am wasting my time.
can you even get Lightning Rod with Beowulf?
I started thinking this game was pretty hard but now 0 heat and not having certain pacts of punishment makes it too easy sometimes.
My wife watched me play Elden Ring and wasn't interested. She watched me play Risk of Rain 2 and was also not interested.
She's made it to credits in Hades twice now and has it almost 100% complete on Xbox. The only thing she's struggling with is leveling all of the charms lol
i had a friend who tried this and gave a "bad review" but when i was watching him play it seemed to me that he just didn't understand armored enemys and how they work with super armor hitting him through his own damage
Hades has become my cozy game, so I'm mostly looking to just have fun. I hit 32 heat recently but I may not go for that again.
I really like this combo double strike on it is so broken
First thing thay popped into my mond thinking about a game that is all habd eye coordination was also PONG! π 19:01
platformers are basically all hand eye
I like the shorter vids. I like your longer videos as well but I often skip over them just because I don't have the time too sink into it.
This is just my opinion but the game isnt difficult until you get the pact and specifically choose the difficult ones aslo i dont mind the grindiness but i do understand that not everyone has time to grind something for that long
Iβd include gungeon as well 21:00
I'd say fighting games are the ones that require the most dexterity but least amount of knowledge to be successful. I know the actual metagame is really deep. For each character, you have (no of characters in the roster – 1) different counter play knowledge requirement to play them competitively but if you are not against someone who specifically knows the things that counter you, you can just spam some punches or special moves and can win the game. Randomly smashing the controller goes a long way unlike randomly picking boons in hades or cards in slay the spire for example.
edit: OH! rhythm games, stuff like guitar hero or dance dance revolution are purely dexterity based and have literally zero knowledge except memorizing the song you play. They are basically a sequence of real time events.
More challenging runs is cooler than faster runs
