  1. I think neither is necessarily better than the other. It’s the variety that keeps things interesting. Do 32 heat for a while, then speedy for a while. Honestly I just look forward to learning, and listening to the random topics you talk about.

  2. There really is something to be said for both. When I first play a new game, I like to play on medium, but if I like the game enough to replay it, I will almost always bump it up to hard. Consequenceless powertrips are boring.

  3. I like to play games for fun mostly. Don't have that much time in a day left to go for challenge runs. However in a game like Hades it's fun to slowly ramp up the difficulty in a predictable manner.

  4. I really dig the arguments on Hades about a game being not so heavily focus on "dexterity" or eye/hand coordination. A bit of it is necessary, and learning the mechanics of enemies, but I start being good at the game when I understood how to build a strategy of play style with the different boons, how to use (and abuse) keepsakes and the importance of the well of charon, that is insanely good when you look at it.

  5. 13:00 souls games are more obtuse than hard, which is honestly a disservice to the series. It's also why there isn't really room for an "easy" mode, because easy mode is literally just actually explaining mechanics like poise and rolling in game.

  6. I like 32 Heat vids more than Speedruns but that's because I like it when you pause and explain your thoughts on stuff while you're doing the run
Maybe an IGN speedrun then instead, go fast but you get some break time in menus? πŸ˜›

  7. For myself I like challenging myself and playing on higher difficulties in games where there is progression. When I play rogue likes and am far enough along that I have unlocked everything or most of everything I generally take a more chill approach on a moderate difficulty and just enjoy the vibe of the game because dying repeatedly feels horrible and makes me feel like I am wasting my time.

  8. I started thinking this game was pretty hard but now 0 heat and not having certain pacts of punishment makes it too easy sometimes.

My wife watched me play Elden Ring and wasn't interested. She watched me play Risk of Rain 2 and was also not interested.

She's made it to credits in Hades twice now and has it almost 100% complete on Xbox. The only thing she's struggling with is leveling all of the charms lol

  9. i had a friend who tried this and gave a "bad review" but when i was watching him play it seemed to me that he just didn't understand armored enemys and how they work with super armor hitting him through his own damage

  10. This is just my opinion but the game isnt difficult until you get the pact and specifically choose the difficult ones aslo i dont mind the grindiness but i do understand that not everyone has time to grind something for that long

  11. I'd say fighting games are the ones that require the most dexterity but least amount of knowledge to be successful. I know the actual metagame is really deep. For each character, you have (no of characters in the roster – 1) different counter play knowledge requirement to play them competitively but if you are not against someone who specifically knows the things that counter you, you can just spam some punches or special moves and can win the game. Randomly smashing the controller goes a long way unlike randomly picking boons in hades or cards in slay the spire for example.
edit: OH! rhythm games, stuff like guitar hero or dance dance revolution are purely dexterity based and have literally zero knowledge except memorizing the song you play. They are basically a sequence of real time events.
