Yeah I started a new save too with this series. Even though my first playthrough was like January haha.
I'm in the epilogue now and dealing with the fact that you can pretty much either run for darkness or run for blood but not really both effectively. Ah well, it does make sense they hand out lots of darkness when you have to redo a boss at a heat you already partially beat.
My vote is shield. Honestly Zag shield is my fave aspect in the game, it's so aggressive. I don't believe narrowing in on only attack or only special is any good on it though. It's honestly kinda boring when I only use one or the other, but so fun with both. Explosive return and dashing flight are a crazy power combo.
You need to meet Chaos, it's the chthonic gods in that prophecy. Also there's a prophecy for Skelly's first prize with some diamonds (I think) attached. It's easy meta money. You gotta interact with it tho.

Razor Shoals is useful for activating Privileged Status, but RS by itself is just ok.

I think you should pick darkness when you visit sisyphus, he gives you like 60 darkness, and you said it yourself that you need a ton of it
Your talking about reloading with the rail in the beginning reminded me that I still think they should've had it where firing the grenade launcher reloads your gun, like you fire out your spent cartridge before Zag loads a new one. That could've been an interesting aspect even.
So grateful for this series! Loving it so far.

Most of the time Rupture is only worth it for Priviledged Status, but in some instances it's bonkers. For example, it just eats through Theseus's health in the EM3 heroes fight.
I was recommended this series from youtube and it gave me a chance to revisit hades after 2 years. So i started speedrunning. I had this videos as a podcast almost while doing runs and thanks to your guide too i was able to get a sub-10 time for the first time. is 100 percenting the game before hades 2 possible cause thats what ive been trying to do.
Would appreciate a Beowulf deep-dive. I know it's not super strong until it's fully upgraded, but the dash strike and the cast explosions are weird timing for me since they're not aligned perfectly
