Totally love Hades 2!
A lot of my issues with the game have worn off after playing for a while and getting used to it, as well as balanced updates, but there are still some things majorly missing. For one, multiple casts, and for two, selling/removing boons. Also something to do with the endless amounts of meta currency junk in my inventory that i can do literally nothing with. At least in h1 all the collectible resources could be turned into diamonds, ambrosia and blood, but what am i supposed to do with all my moly and pearls and shit?
I remember buying Hades immediately on Epic because i loved Bastion and Transistor then fell in love with SuperGiant. Then proceeded to not really play it at all until it came to Steam bc i hated Epics launcher.
Definitely recommend everyone to play Bastion for the amazing music
So far, I've only found one way to tell which Hecate is which, and it's her voice. It'll echo from the direction she's actually in if you have stereo sound. But she doesn't always talk when she splits so it's not guarantee lol
also launching Hades without warning was lowkey genius because the game had 0 expectations out in the world when it released, and it got to surprise everyone with its quality.
I gotta say Transistor will always hold my heart but you gotta go back and give Pyre another go, when i go back to it I'll admit the beginning third or so is a bit slow to get into but i got really attached to the characters and by the time you get to the mountaintop for the first time and the goal begins to shift i found myself growing waaaaay more invested in the events. Plus i love how depending on the choices you made that ending can be really hard. I got put in a lose lose of breaking a promise i made at the very beginning of the game (if ykyk) and that shit absolutely crushed me at the end but left a really long lasting impression.
I'd also say that Transistor's music is at the top of my list but Pyre is right behind it. And honestly this might be a crazy hot take but Hades' music has always been towards the bottom, normally anything with Darren & Ashley is an instant 10/10 but i dunno i didn't care much for their duets or solos in the first game they just didn't hit as hard as Paper Boats or Never To Return, or even Setting Sail/Coming Home
Between Transistor and Pyre, which one is shorter?
I started both but wanted to focus on the one I could finish first. So far my favorite is Pyre, love the gameplay and the story, while Transistor I love the story but not so much the gameplay.
I finished Bastion and loved it. I started Transistor and Pyre, but moved on to other things quickly. I really want to go back to Transistor and finish it, and then maaaaybe try Pyre again. I got all their games after Hades 1, btw.
I’ve 100% every supergiant game and would do it all over again if I could. Easily my favorite studio of all time
I thought same boons/rewards from Chaos doesn't stack?? damn.
If you to do a pure gigs cleaver run, Than Axe’s crit applies to the omega specials too
Just got my first 32 fear clear with than axe. Engraved pin is a hard carry
Pyre is certainly a niche game, but it is my personal favorite! I just love the worldbuilding, the mythology, the way you feel immersed in the setting, and the somewhat laidback vibe it has. You do control a character that's meant to be more of a blank slate for yourself than in the other Supergiant games, as is usual for Visual Novel-style RPGs like that, so that also puts you in a different mindset for making choices and feeling the interactions than when you are playing as a well-defined character like Mel, for example. Speaking of that, I'd say that a lot of the way character interactions work in Hades was an evolution of how those were implemented in Pyre, especially considering the larger cast with individual story developments.
Anyway, Pyre may not be for everyone, but if any of you feel interested in those aspects be sure to give it a try! And at the very least you can rest assured that the polish and overall quality of the product is fantastic as expected from the studio.
I think id go as far too say that Transistor is one of if not my favorite game/s ever
Transistor was my Supergiant introduction, and remains my long time fave. Was just a phenomenal experience
Wouldn’t using Poseidon omega cast be better since storm ring doesn’t get much of a chance to do anything as it disappears so quick?
I played bastion and transistor this year. Bastion was simple fun. Transistor is beautiful stylistically but I couldn't get invested in the story and the gameplay took a while to click with me. Final boss was very cool though
dan I love u but that decison making was lwk terrible imo. U took a 2nd chaos over aphro mini boss, even tho charon is just heartbreaker farm. U could have had sunny dispo out of erebus. Maybe im wrong tho
Played and loved every Supergiant title. I really hope they go back to the short story format at some point in the future, I really enjoyed the worlds they built and the more concise stories they told. I love the hades games as eell, but I feel like they have near endless replayability to me and I would rather see more stories and worlds.
Transistor is in my Top 5 games of all time. The gameplay, art direction, music. That soundtrack is absolutely amazing. "Old Friends", "Paper Boats", "Gateless", "The Spine".
I was playing Pyre but didnt finish it. I have to get back to it. Hades was a blast but I didn't like how many abilities and God's abilities really sucked and were pretty useless.
Transistor will always be my favorite. Hopefully that game gets a sequel.
The only Supergiant game I've played is Hades. I played a demo of Bastian back on xbox 360 and didn't like it but I'm curious about giving it another try. I didn't know about the playlists you have for other Supergiant games but will check them out, see if Bastian in particular vibes more with me now.
Bastion was the first game I 100%-ed, and I was genuinely proud of myself for doing so. While it may not be particularly difficult, as someone who isn't the most skillful gamer, it was a significant challenge for me. At the time, it was one of my favorite games—the story resonated with me deeply, the characters were beautifully crafted, and the world was unforgettable.
Transistor is simply outstanding. Although the gameplay never quite "clicked" for me—I wasn’t inclined to experiment with builds or push myself in any particular way (I ended up beating the game with the cheesiest build I could come up with)—the story is pure artistry, and the visuals are breathtaking. I couldn’t believe they managed to create a game even more beautiful than Bastion.
Pyre I attempted, but I didn't find much enjoyment in it. I couldn’t grasp what I was supposed to be doing, both in the "battles" and in the narrative. I just couldn’t make sense of what was happening or why I should care. Now, I'm hesitant to give it another try, worried that I might end up disliking it again.
Bro, why do you have your Hades II playlist in descending chronological order? Please swap it.
So like any word this coming to ps5?
