I always hated the design choices in this series. The Gods has this boring modern people in modern clothes based look. It's hard to know who is a God, and who is a regular person out of context. Every "ancient" attire just look redesigned by modern flamboyant fashion. And weapons has this funny Walmart ninja style. All the jewelry looks stolen from a hip-hop and rap cover in the early 90's. For an animated series I was so disappointed by how bland it all looks.
Though i love the romance of hades and persephone here, this has done a complete injustice to Ares. Ares never forced a woman or even tried to touch her without her consent. In fact, he punished his daughter's molester, not even fearing Zeus's disfavor. Hence, Ares was thought to be the protector of women, and compared with Hades in faithfulness.
Aren't the Gods' blood gold? I mean if I learned anything from Greek mythology is that the interesting fact about their blood, even though I forget what it is called.
Of course out of all the minor gods of Olympus, Ares would be bold enough or dumb enough to think he’s a match for the third most powerful god in the Greek Pantheon, that’s what he gets for being the angriest person alive.
I find it hilarious and a bit silly that plenty of comments in this video mention hating this show because it made Ares an abuser in this flashback, when in mythology Ares wasn't like that. When Hades in media has always been wrongly portrayed as a devil/satan figure while he is nothing like that in mythology. From all the Ares portrayals in media I've seen, BoZ is the first time I've seen this being pulled off with the god of war. The god is also drunk here, and he is a bloodthirsty being. So what's this one misconception of a character? I just let it slide, it probably it was just this one time that Ares did something like this. The next episode imo even redeemed Ares, at least in the way he stood up on Hera's behalf when all the others wanted to beat her up more or less.
Well Ares was't only god of war, he was also the protection god of women because he despised violance against women the most. Somehow a lot of those shows don't go deep in the myths which is sad. Aphrodite was for example also once a goddess connected to war. The gods were much more complex
"Leave or there will be bloodshed", warns the experienced Hades. "I choose bloodshed", replied the brash Ares. Little did Ares know that Hades never said that the blood of the King of the Underworld would be shed…
I get that they wanted Ares to be a unlikable dick but he's accually the protector of women and is VERY against this sort of stuff, like castration of the guilty against it
I almost felt bad when Ares tried to lay his hand on Persephone. Even in his arrogance he must admit he made a terrible mistake that will not be forgotten when his Godly soul falls to Tartarus and is tormented for all time.
Persephone and Hades are low key the perfect couple. She’s the Goddess of Spring, he’s God of the Underworld. All gardeners know how integral it is that the death and decay of the previous year feeds the new growth that comes in the Spring. Death always ushers in new life in some way.
Ares should have kept flashback Ares hair. I prefer this than the buzzcut. I mean, it makes sense with military vibes but still
1:44 of course the god of war would choose blood shed
Ares was about to spend the rest of eternity with the "old man" in the underworld if it weren't for Persephone
Why would you challenge one of the 3 brothers? Their literally the strongest Greek gods it's not even comparable
Ares was pressing his luck hard here
01:42…
THERE WILL BE BLOODSHED, THE MAN IN THE MIRROR NODS ITS HEAD.
They really didnt bother even trying to research greek mythology whent hey made this, did they
I guess i shouldn't be surprised, netflix is hot dogshit
Theyre the sweetest!!

I have curly hair thanks ➿➰➿ ~ Hades 🖌️🎨🎶🌌
Persephone is older than Ares right
Hades is not really a bad, he is just tired to be alone , he love Persephone and she love hades too, hades sounds like a sad man
I just realized that Ares is always represented as a total asshole in every adaptation that i saw.
I'd really like to see a Norse version of this
Imagine blood of Odin.
It'd be lit
Any one else get a kratos vs baldur with freya intervene vibe or hust me

1:41 Was cold
Ironic how Ares is afraid of Zeus but he'll fight Hades; someone who even Zeus is cautious of.
You really never should have called them old man Aries
Ares hair in this scene is soooo goooodddd
Oh cool
Hades has his bi-dent

Ares : I choose bloodshed-
Hades : Immediately mixes his shit
I could see Apollo assaulting Persephone, not Ares. Apollo was more lustful for Persephone in mythology.
In ancient Greek Mythology. Hades was not portrayed as evil, but as a role that NEEDED to be done.

A little messed up to make Ares a r*pist, considering one of his myths is about killing one.

Ares is so hot here
1:41 Them eyelashes tho 👀
Ares got that ass tapped 😂

Hades was a man of his word. There was blood shed. Lol
▪︎Hades – Gugalanna or Kur.
▪︎Persephone – Ereshkigal.
▪︎Ares – Nergal.

I love how all the Gods have British accents but the strongest ones have an American accent 🇺🇸
0:51 boss move, I never even knew she had powers.
Ares deserves his ass kicking because he tried to assault Persephone.
If Demeter knew Hades protected her Daughter from Aries, maybe she would have treated him differently.
Hands down one of my favorite depictions of Hades and Persephone.
Cool. Ares was never a rapist.
Gaia at this point got absolutely sick and tired of Olympian BS.
