► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. The Aspect of Arthur is one of the most powerful and transformative weapon aspects in the entire game. Landing the full combo might be slow, but it's worth it considering the weapon has the highest damage per strike of any weapon outright. Plus that aura gives you heavy damage reduction and slows your foes, so it's always worth it to open with that.

  2. Is Mort a joke reference to Rat Death from Pratchett Discworld series?

Additionally, i have feeling Dionysus and Zag keep calling each other closest mates, because mythoswise they both have same origin story and even can be considered the same deity.

  3. It's crazy you did it all with just one life but even crazier you went the whole run before realizing lol, pretty sure it was really for the best though as to not feel that pressure, especially when you were quite low on health a couple times.
Also crazy how much the dialogues can adapt really, I've had a similar speech from Achilles but it was also different and referred only to Meg since she was the first one I got past the arrow.
ps: I believe it's best to not switch room at all (not even Hades chamber) if you want the dialogues that were supposed to happen initially

  4. 27:38 The Hallowed Ground disables traps (spikes of tartarus, magma of asphodel, archers of elysium, pressure plates of styx). It also slows down projectiles once in the area

This is by far the best sword aspect with how much it helps you avoid unnecessary damage.

  5. – Switch to stubborn defiance
    – Don't have enough darkness to use it
    – Keep it and just go for a new run, despite being totally defiance-free
    – Complete the run anyway

I think she's very OK for trying stubborn defiance…

  6. I just did a run with Arthur and a bunch of Vengeance boons and as many debuffs as I could find the other day. It's pretty fun face-tanking everything while you watch enemies basically kill themselves, but it's kinda hard to build as you need a bunch of very specific boons from various gods.

Speaking of, I think that's the kind of situation that makes Fated Authority interesting. Sure, Persuasion would help me get the boons I wanted as well, but if I ran into a Dio or Arty room with no other choice my plans would be kinda ruined. So it can help getting you out of gods you don't want in a specific build.

As for Stubborn Defiance, there are some interesting interactions with other Defiance granting effects (like some of Athena's boons). If you waste the Stubborn Defiance in the room before getting the Athena boon that grants it, you recover the Stubborn Defiance in the next room and keep the extra Defiance, and it only gets used after the Stubborn Defiance as well!

  7. OH MY GOODNESS I was biting my nails off during this run all the times you came so close to death and you didn't even realise until after the run that you only had a single life! Haha, but very well done! I love how tense it was for us to watch, even though it wouldn't have felt like a close run to you at the time :P.

A note about the aura from the Arthur aspect: I don't think it's mentioned, but the aura also disables traps! That's why the ones your aura touched in Alecto's fight were disabled. Also fun fact: Lava in Asphodel count as traps! Slap down your aura and you can walk on lava damage-free! 🙂 Makes Extreme Measures Lernie a breeze!

Hypnos actually has a LOT of things to say, you just haven't been dying much anymore haha (good job tho!). He still has tons of context-sensitive things to say, like dying to lava, he still has more dialogue for dying to the various pre-Hades bosses, dying to the rats in styx, or to the big grabby hands in Tartarus; he has something to say for almost every single method of dying 🙂

  8. you did great, but the aspect of Arthur is not one you really want to spam dash with. Drop your aura and fight inside it. you're extremely safe inside it's area. It's one of my favorite aspects, just because it makes you feel like a paladin or something ha.
Edit: getting to the end and discovering you didn't switch the mirror was classic! Think of it like a Knight's bravery.

  9. XD Welonz, YOU LEGEND!
I love that you did the whole run with absolutely no worries of your health bar, to the point that you didn't even realise what was going on!
