► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis
Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

You should take a day off, it's the end of year, Welonz!
Don’t think Welonz says the line “are we gonna be okay?” in any other series ever as much as she does in this series 🤣
Heya, great, entertaining run again! 🙂
Few things I wanted to chime in with:
1) I know you’re a little turned off forcing out specific gods, but if you want more ideas for themed runs, consider runs with the goal to attain specific Duo boons, beginning the first two floors with the two gods’ keepsakes you’re aiming for. (Perhaps you’re already doing this starting with this run!)
On a related note, Hunting Blades is an exceptionally powerful Duo that I don’t think you’ve gotten yet, and it goes great with Cast-based aspects, like the Hera Bow, Poseidon Blade, or Beowulf Shield.
2) I haven’t done the math, but I heard that if Companion Fidi lasts for its full duration, it does more damage than the other companions. Its downside is that it deals its damage over a period of time, not upfront like the others. But just good to know that it provides good damage beyond the petrification ability, if you deploy it early in a fight 🙂
3) When playing on PC, I find that what’s worked for me was swapping the default Cast and Special inputs. So Q is Cast, and Right-click is Special. That made the Gilgamesh aspect usable for me.
19:17 “I just CLAWED my way back” oh you!
4) if you need more thumbnail art, there’s an ‘Art of Hades’ Kotaku article with some official art of Zagreus wielding a few different aspects. My only caution is that you haven’t seen the Bow’s hidden aspect yet, so that’s the only potential spoiler.

ME: Awww it's a baby Cthulu!
1:10:50 "Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer"
Gilgamesh was a king who sought eternal life, his friendship with Enkidu is the most touching part of his story. I think there are several versions but do not remember there being a particular weapon linked to him, he is very popular in the Final Fantasy world, especiall in FF5 he is a big part and he usually is depicted there with many many weapons.
I really like the Gilgamesh aspect, but don't really use the 'maim' part of it much either tbh. Even without that, it has good base damage on all fronts + the 2 dashes which makes it really powerful. Though it can be dangerous at the heat you're playing at since it's cqc, the number of times you got the enhanced witches in this run didn't help.
Amusingly, the Aspect of GIlgamesh stands out through the fact that its myth is the only one that predates the Ancient Greek setting of Hades. The first recorded heroic myth from the cradle of civilization, the story of a god-king and his faithful retainer/lover and his ill-fated search for immortality. It's only fitting that Asterius gave that waking phrase to you, considering his relationship with Theseus.
01:25:05 That's a lot of fish.
Pure guess here: Skelly's employer is Charon. He says Hermes definitely isn't his employer but just a "peer relationship". Charon works with Hermes. Also, Skelly has a Charon Obal in his mouth.
An hour and a half of playing with aspect of Gilgamesh and no one has been called a mongrel…what is this?
speaking of re-binding, I actually got the game for the Switch a few days ago, and after 30 runs only getting to the Bone Hydra three times, I did two things. Turned on God Mode, because lol I have garbage reflexes. BUT. the biggest thing was re-binding the keys. Turns out the default Switch control map sucks, which people should be aware of. The Dash being on B while the Attack is on X (I think it was X?) makes Dash-Strike very difficult to execute and makes Dashes awkward. I re-binded Dash to ZR. hilariously giving Nectar to people is ALSO ZR, so every single time I give Nectar, I also Dash. I will never fix this, it's hilarious every time.
anyway, after that I had more success in my runs, also because I'd unlocked a lot of the mirror and contractor stuff through beating my head against Tartarus over and over.
and I beat Hades with, of course, the Aspect of Chaos shield, with Poseidon on both Attack and Special, and then Dio's Cast and Dash, both of which were also lifesavers. I had the boon that gives Rupture, so by attacking and dashing around enemies Privileged Status happened a LOT, probably. incidentally, Drunken Dash is a fun way to beat a boss without hitting them. just keep running past them applying Hangover and enjoy watching their lifebar chip down.
the first thing i did when trying out this game was switch key bindings from cast and special, i feel like u want to spam special more often than cast. i know it would be super confusing for u now xd
