Hi friends! Today I have a different kind of video for you – I thought it would be fun to do a comparison of all my dark blue shimmer nail polishes to see if I could dupe Mooncat House of Hades, since it’s such a popular color! I’ve been eyeing that moon cat polish for months
Last time I tried HoH I didn’t love it…but I got me a kbshimmer from ppu Jan this year called Howl you doin’, is different because is a shimmer but it def has the same glowing effect and I loved it a lot! I’m gonna have to try HoH sometime soon to see how I feel about it! Thank you for the fun comparison vid! ❤
I love this kind of video. I have bought colors that were too similar to ones I already have and feel wasteful. It’s neat to see what other polishes give a similar feel.

Great idea Kelli, now I'm really not a big blue lover in general so my first question is do I buy House of Hades?
I've heard many people say it's so much better in real life
So the the four polishes you swatched after hoh immediately I thought they're so similar, but when you put the pic of them all up it's immediately noticeable nothing is like hoh, very revealing, maybe you could do a variation of this video where we ask you about a dupe of a particular polish, just a thought
As far as eating/not eating spice I'd definitely choose to not eat it for the rest of my life, I like spice but not too hot plus I have to be in the mood for it

Loved this! I think it would also be fun to see if you could create it; for example a navy polish with an iridescent topper and freezer burn from HT
I found Last Call by ILNP surprisingly similar to House of Hades when I swatched them myself. Last Call is a bit more purple and House of Hades is a bit brighter.
Check out Lurid Lacquer – small new indie brand. They have a shade called You Are As Unrelenting As Your Love that looks very similar to Mooncat House of Hades. I'll have to compare them when the Lurid shade comes in. Didn’t realize they were similar until now. 🙂
I feel exactly the same way about the spicy food. I like it to a point but I definitely don’t want it all the time and if forced to choose, I could go without.
Wow! You have quite the blue collection! I finally tried Mooncat last month, getting House of Hades, Plankton, and I'm a MF Supernova. I am so impressed with all of these polishes. Highly recommend!

I bought House of Hades during the Mooncat sale, and I was really disappointed by it. My HOH needed 4+ coats, was dull, and difficult to work with. They arent exact dupes, but i might try a couple of these instead.

I think ILNP's Midnight Kiss and Starrily's Morning Glory were the closest, but it's hard to dupe cus Mooncat's is a very purple toned blue.

i have a pretty similar polish that leans slightly more purple than HoH – stole it from my mums collection who bought it at a drugstore i wanna say 10-15 years ago 😂 it's still good and has amazing coverage

Enjoyed this! I didn’t pick up House of Hades during the recent Mooncat sale because I was thinking it might be similar to CG’s Sapphire Up, which I have. Even though your video proves the two aren’t dupes, they may be close enough for me since I don’t grab bright, rich blues very often. For now, I’m just going to keep it on my Mooncat wish list. Would love to see move comparison videos like this 🙂 Thanks so much!!
I would love to see “building” dupes to the polish with cremes and shimmer/flakie toppers… like with Orly’s Britney Beach + ILNP Abyss + Spaced out 🤔 I think that might be an interesting way to approach it. I remember doing something similar to dupe Cirque’s Day Tripper when that sold out with a neon orangey coral creme + cirque’s Moonbeam
Never eat spicy food again. I’m Dominican so I grew up with food seasoned with garlic and other aromatics and herbs, and we never had spicy food. Instead it was PACKED with so many flavors and I’d rather flavor my food that way instead of adding heat 😊
OPI to me promises a lot more on the bottle in terms of shimmers than it delivers on the nail :/

The choice was made for me. I developed a condition called “burning mouth syndrome.” I can’t eat spicy food 😢 or use mint or cinnamon toothpaste or sometimes even like bbq potato chips. It SUCKS.
