Cerberus: The Three-Headed Terror of Hades

Cerberus, in Greek mythology, is a fearsome creature known as the three-headed hound of Hades. He guards the gates of the underworld, preventing the living from entering and the dead from escaping. Cerberus was the offspring of Typhon and Echidna, two monstrous beings. When Heracles (Hercules) embarked on one of his famous labors, he was tasked with capturing Cerberus alive. After overpowering the beast, Heracles succeeded in bringing him to the surface world, displaying immense strength.

  1. Cerberus took a liking to Persephone, and was often there to greet her upon her return to the world of the dead; he even acted like an ordinary dog each time he was in her company, and loved receiving belly rubs from her.
