With Stephen's ultra-turtle personality, I somehow knew that he would love the shield. 😂
I only recently started using the shield but it's become my favorite weapon. Depending on the boons you have, it can be ridiculously good.
The shield is a good one for rapid button mashing 😂
Shield is a very fun weapon to use. It's what I used when I completed my first (and so far only) successful escape attempt.
Starting off I immediately gravitated towards the bow and spear, on the grounds that "I can hit them before they hit me"; but the 1st time I almost beat the game was when I reluctantly used the shield to farm blood, to spend elsewhere.
Having, in the words of The Tick, "nigh-invulnerability" is quite the super power.
It kills me watching Stephen be so defensive. I’m screaming JUST ATTACK THEM. KILL THEM BEFORE THEY CAN KILL YOU. But that’s just a different play style
My first shield run was the complete opposite of Stephen's. I've always favored dodging over blocking when given the choice, so I never held down the Attack button, and when I realized the Special bounces ricochets between enemies before returning I never used anything else.
I think the shield is what I used for my first victory. It's very defensive, so you can hunker down for a while when the shit hits the fan. Special is still really good for keeping your distance, sometimes running headfirst into danger is, well, bad.
