I started playing Hades during the pandemic while everyone around me did puzzles and complained about being locked up in the house. It was a terrible time for so many families and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I felt helpless. Even praying for everything and everyone losing their loved ones overwhelmed me to the point of despair. I didn’t understand why we were all going through this, but nonetheless we were all going through it. No one around me understood why me, a church lady volunteer, and minister would be playing this particular video game.
Religious people are generally not fond of any “unapproved” activities like this and I bet most of them have never ventured into this game at all. I’m glad I did. Playing Hades got me through the pandemic and now I find these characters cracking me up with some of the things they say. Now of course I still pray for people and I still feel helpless about what is going on in the world around me, but one chamber at a time this senior citizen is relentless in her attempts to escape from Hades.
