Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience hundreds of unique story events as you learn about what’s really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.
BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.
SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted Underworld environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

  1. Nice vid! So the damage from the loaded casts is dealt upon attack impact AND when the actual cast "bullets" themselves hit other enemies? So if an enemy dashes backwards after getting hit by the loaded attack, will it still get hit by the bullets still?

  2. does the hera bow and the beowulf shield interact the same way ? I had a really good run with the beowulf earlier and i had to choose a chaos boon between an attack or a cast boost, i'm wondering if one of those boon doesn't affect the loaded attack

  3. Thanks for sharing this, inspired me to try it with Aspect of Poseidon, and also by adding Artemis to the mix. The run went better than I could have possibly imagined. In addition to Parting Shot (which I lucked into before leaving Tartarus) and Lightning Phalanx I managed to score Fully Loaded (off of the dream Exit Wounds + Pressure Points), Lightning Rod, Splitting Bolt, Double Strike, and Sweet Surrender.

Firing off 5 Casts and then retrieving them with my Special (applying Weak to get the PS bonus online) to proc absurdly overcharged Lightning Rods melted Hades, making for one of the most fun runs I've had so far.

  4. JP, would you recommend not trying this until you’ve leveled up the Hera bow? I’ve used lvl 1 Hera bow with Dionysus cast and it works great, but this seems like it would have trouble killing bosses at lvl 1 Hera bow.

  5. I haven't looked at the code or anything, but my experience from playing the game suggests that as long as you have at least one of your 4 "core" boon slots open, you will virtually always be offered at least one core boon every time. For example around 24:30, you pick up an Athena boon. It offers you Divine Flourish but you take Lightning Phalanx. In the next room you pick up another Athena boon and it offers you Divine Flourish again, and then you re-roll it and it offers you Divine Flourish *again*. When you already have a strike, cast, dash, and call boon, but no flourish, I think you're almost guaranteed to be offered a flourish every single time.

I've found that when I'm hunting for duos and legendaries it's extremely helpful to fill my core slots as soon as possible. Back in Asphodel you were offered Passion Dash alongside Dying Lament and you took Dying Lament. Later on you ended up taking Passion Dash anyway. You were also offered Thunder Flourish and Static Discharge and took Static Discharge (which didn't really do much for your build). You commented (correctly I think) that Thunder Flourish wouldn't do anything useful for you with Charged Volley, but in your place I would've taken it anyway. Instead of being offered Divine Flourish 3 times in Elysium, you probably would've seen it at most once. That would give you two to three more chances to find Parting Shot.

  6. Really question does the aphrodite and athena boon do additional backstab damage in general? Or only with the cast does it do more damage I've always been unsure but still get it just incase. I'm not the biggest cast guy

  7. Took awhile but it got going. Bear in mind when I suggested this I had 5 cast stones and 2 ambush boons from chaos, on top of braid of atlas + nemises crest. The lightning phalanx was pretty neat to see, it cleared styx rooms faster than I was getting out of it
