  2. Pro guitarist / music producer here to answer your James Brown question and finally give something back after all the Hades tutorial and entertainment I got from you:

    I don't know if you already play guitar, but if your goal is to learn a JB song, there's a few techniques for his style that are very important. Given that there's a guitar in the background of your stream, I assume you have some knowledge.

    Firstly, let's define the usual techniques used in let's say I Got You, since you were singing that. There's some chords you'd have to learn, it's just a simple progression, so that should be easy for you. There's the 16th notes dead notes "chickas" (or 8th notes, depending on how you count the song) through out the riffs / chord progression. That's by and large what would define the feel. If you get those right, you're golden. That's not just important for this song, but any funk song. Getting a good groove down with your picking hand is the most important thing. You could play the wrongest notes in the world as long as that groove is going, the listener will be okay with it.

    However, it is nice to play the right notes and in the right way. There's the pentatonic riff after the chorus (After the "I got you!" part) that is played in unison by both the brass section and the guitar. That riff is the signature of the song and getting the bend at the end of it just right makes the song feel a lot better, too. Playing the 16th notes chickas during this riff will also come across a lot more authentic, since we're talking recreation here. The hard part about those 16th notes is getting the muting right so no strings are ringing out when they shouldn't be heard. Good muting separates the pros from the.. well, not pros. Also, staying loose enough and not make the song feel stiff. There should be a noticeable groove coming just from the percussive playing of the guitarist without any drums playing.

    In Conclusion: A few chords (very doable), pentatonic riff with a bend at the end (very doable, too), 16th note grooving with good muting technique (harder, but doable with practice) and then putting all of that together seemlessly.
