WHOA IM EXTRA EARLY ??
also hi !! discordant bell, is by far, the best way to being sadistic AND masochistic for this game; yes, you are canonically strong, but at the price of… well, if you get touched, you die HARD.
also, hera with the staff (and dying wish) is still legendary because it kills enemies with hitch always being applied.
i also still think that hera's sprint is always +1 and hitch, so that way it can hurt as much as it wants and makes hera's sprint much more better in comparison
I want to love Pan, but it forces me to sit still, which means I have to hate it. I don't make the rules.
Discordant Bell rework idea: similar to Evil Eye its effect should persist between runs, the bonus damage you can deal stacking up to +200% (effectively infinite crits) but the damage recived stacks indefinitely even beyond that. Stacked buff and debuff are cleared on death or on use of a different trinket
Not only does this make Bell more interesting, but it opens up a new way to play with Bell streaking, where players try to get as many consecutive runs with Bell equipped as possible before the damage debuff inevitably becomes so high that death is almost certain
It also fits better with Eris's "blessing" since that mechanic also ramps indefinitely with no cap until you die
flick knives feels like it's made for duo boons. like hephy/demeter, hestia/poseidon etc
they gotta up the % increase to at least 5 or something, do what eris would do and go all in on the stakes
Woah, judging from this video the combo of Discordant Bell + Support Fire is amazing!
When my wife and I got our first apartment together, our stuff was combined on 1 truck, no movers. I used the straps and carried all the furniture myself. I didn’t have the key yet because the broker was late. All of our stuff was in the elevator lobby on the 5th floor of where our apartment was because the super gave me access to the elevator for 3 hours. It was the worst day of my life. Poor as I was at the time, I was too exhausted to put gas back in the truck on my way back to drop it off. That was the best $110 charge I ever incurred. 10000000% get movers to help you once you’re past a certain age.
the issue is that you take more damage. there are many keepsakes which give advantage but have no downside. this has downside and its upside is strong but it takes too long build-up. i did this on Aspect of Melinoe for Torch where goal was to get really good melee with 40% multiplicative damage. it is too rng for you to roll born gain and Appolo's legendary then you can get like 80% multiplicative damage. I like to label this keepsake as something like White antler with different drawback. white antler''s drawback is low hp. this one is more damage taken and you get 40% "crit" chance at 2x at the end of the run with implicit drawback of not being able to switch keepsakes.
I remember last time we did a full bell run on stream, it was kinda trash xD
Here's hoping it'll be better this time (it won't be)
2% would be genuinely interesting, maybe even 2.5%. I think the main issue is that because it's also increasing damage taken, it feels like it should be a really volatile item that makes or breaks a run if you snowball with it the whole time. Would fit Eris' vibe a lot, too.
The problem with flick knives is the intent to trigger it. U have to think about it like Sunshine's boons where it's secondary. Works best with aspect of Artemis because you dash strike subconsciously with it
Bell is literally the keepsake of Strife herself
It makes sense that you don't like it
You got Support Fire again just to drive the point across that it's garbage, right? Shame on you, Dan.
Flick knives
hera attack
Demeter special
Get the duo to explode the hera burn immediately, get the +100 initial scorch too
Aspect of piss
Flick knives activates pan dagger homing even without magic BTW. Did a run where I pan daggers without a magic boon.
I think the bell would probably be better on the surface where there are more encounters overall.
Moving is super nerve wracking, so the thing to do is a big spring cleaning every now and then. Get rid of stuff you don't like — donate, trash, recycle, whatever. I did it a few years ago and it is seriously the best feeling. Even if you're not planning to move, it's so freeing and satisfying — and it'll genuinely help for when you do move
looks like it took around 40s to do the Azphedel room
it's probably supposed to suck? it would be in character for eris
I did a build that felt pretty good with Flick Knives.
Get Zeus' special, something like Aphrodite on the attack. Spam attack, no magic needed. Static shock works great with it, the +Attack Power boon from Aphro too, and Wicked Onslaught for the second hammer I guess.
It doesn't have much flare though 🤷♀
And I'm watching this with boxes all around in our new flat.
Personally I think having a keepsake that you just have to keep on for the whole run (if you want it do anything worthwhile) is just an inherently flawed design because it's so boring.
Like imagine if it was something crazy like Eris forces you to swap a core boon every X chambers but then she poms Y boons Z times each, where even if it ends up sucking, experiencing the downside is at least part of the draw of using it. At least that would allow you to switch to another keepsake (maybe because you're about to die, maybe because you lucked into something you think you can work with) without losing all of its impact on your run. Or even occasionally have an incentive to "tactically" use it later on in a run (my build isn't coming together, Eris take the wheel!)
Would it be too broken if it was like 1% damage AND crit chance? To make it slightly more spicy and chaotic without just a flat damage bonus
okay so…. FLICK KNIVES BUILD IDEA
> grab aspect of pan
> grab flick knives
> demeter boons can either fit attack or specials (prioritize biggest damage) + get also demeter cast
> get zeus attack or special
> get ZEUS AND DEMETER DUO BOON
enemy will easily be frozen and will keep getting struck by lightning + this helping blitz to proc (I think zeus on special and demeter on attack and cast is the better choice)
> additionally can pick demeter boon that makes your omega cast stays with you, so it will be easy to the flick knives to aim near enemies
> for hammers, the one that bounces into more enemies your knives is goods (if blitz on special, more targets affecteds, maybe picking the useless that auto activate blitz could work too, for demeter special, will be more frozen enemies taking lighning, but your cast should do the job too)
> the returning knives also good, getting flick knives back to get more damage to proc blitz
> backstab hammer if u have returning
> for attack hammers, many can see use, more attack speed, the one that make the attack BIGGER to easily freeze more
can fit as other god slots apollo for the cyclone things, or even aphrodite for her gain (making near enemies weak, as we plan not to use magic) and her + damage boons, shameless and the other one, hestia slow cooker sadly would be a bit bad bc hard to get fire, maybe heph for survival, and thats it mostly, maybe going over the top by trying poseidon slippy and zeus duo to make enemies suffer more damage while frost by demeter (they are getting lightnings so…), and with poseidon you could try the opposite, aim for demeter poseidon duo super early in erebus, so you get better chances at getting boons and no minor rewards, and hera idk, don't help so much and can mess things with zeus
and i really got the core demeter and zeus with apollo and aphro playing alone, it was fun to see the flick knives really making enemies to freeze and helping blitz + lightnings, it is fun to see, even more when your cast walks with you and flick knives lock on them
The bell wishes it was Thans pierced butterfly
God Mode Enabled = Free Damage 😎
So for some math, at the end of the run, once Hydraulic Might ran out, and with Furies + Origination active, you were doing 109 damage per knife (ignoring static shock/support fire). Knives do 25 base damage, and your additive multipliers were +30% Furies, +50% Origination, +150% Nova Flourish, +50% Witch's Mark, +20% Spiral Knives for a total of +300% (plus a few points here and there from Mean Streak), meaning you'd be doing 100 damage before the bell, unless I missed something. But the bell, with its mighty 30% additive damage boost, contributed a whole extra 8 damage per knife (I'm not sure where the last 1 damage comes from, maybe rounding weirdness). Edit: Found the missing 1 damage, it's because I missed that Mean Streak was actually active at 5% which adds 1.25 damage.
Apollo Special can never apply daze unfortunately, since his boon Dazzling Display only applies to attacks
Last moving day I had was a full 16 hours and I went full adult power mode for the entire day and I hated it, LOL
I'd find it interesting if it was +1% Crit Chance and Dmg Taken, but maybe it would be too similar to Antler towards the end…
bloodlines really sucked for the amount of magic it adds. Not sure when that would be useful. And even at 2% I'm not sure if it's worth it. There are others that give almost that much but sets your early game up. Last… Apollo should have been on the attack, not the special. Would have opened the lego without being on the spec
