I really liked this level. That final fight was EPIC. However, making a player fight in pitch black is just cancer IMHO.
Hope the knee is getting better.
A few things that were changed since when you play tested the level:
– Replaced the plasma with a BFG, just like you guessed. The BFG definitely helps with the last fight (but isn't necessary).
– Made the lights out trap a little nastier.
– Gave the player easier access to the rocket launcher, as without it, the return trip from grabbing the blue key was kind of miserable.
– Added Cyberdemon reinforcements to the final fight.
– Added a couple of Cybermancs for spice.

Around 7:27 ,one thing I noticed is that your 1st death may have been avoidable had you stayed where the blue keycard was, holding the position until the time is right to proceed on the map after the last wave is cleared. Rushing throught the corridors while enemies were spawning is never a good idea, even with slow teleporters, because one never knows in a Blind/Pirate (as I call it, when you have played/seen the map, but don't remember much of it) run ,if a beefy mob will spawn, taking more space, and shots to be dealt with. Sure the archie in this fight might've been occupied resurrecting everything, but there's the exploit in his mechanic there. You can shoot at him with the RL, or a CC gun like the Plasma/BFG if you happen to have any of those. Sure, you would've taken more time to beat the map/section, but if you can use the strategy to your advantage, why not use it?
PD: It's not 100% fullproof, but it could've saved you some trouble. Still, great run!
I have two memories of this map, first was the foot tappingly good MIDI, the second was getting shot in the back of the head from a super shotgun IN THE DARK and freaking dying. Rude.
