I hate rogue likes but you convinced me to give this a shot, I like that your progress carrys over, like yea progression I knew this genre was missing something
You should check out Bastion, the first action game of this style made by the studio.
You know it's bad when I look at Hades and OG Megaman X & go "We need a Doom Eternal version of these, just because" 16bit Doomslayer side scroller like Megaman X would be a cool little game.
dont tell him about isaac guys
you should play sekiro and hollow knight
I think you might just be too good at games. I found Hades really difficult. I can't beat doom eternal on ultra violence. I like hard games, but man, you beat hades the first time after just a couple days of play? Jesus
Since you asked: I feel like the progression based devision on what is roguelike and roguelite, which became prevalent because of the Game Maker's Toolkit video, is wrong. See none of these games have literally no meta progress that is saved between the runs, there are still achievement based progress, unlocks or, for example, shortcuts in Spelunky. And there is, to me, not that much difference between direct upgrades and other forms of progression in these games, because no matter what mechanic is used, the goal is still to give you the ability to change all of your future runs through your actions on the current one. So call me pedantic or old-fasioned but for me roguelike is still supposed to be a turn-based procedurally generated rpg on a grid.
You should definitely take a look at Dead Cells
hades is temporary but doom is eternal
Synthetik next pls
People who whine about feeling like your progress comes from upgrades and not personal skill;
There is literally an entire fucking story arc for maxing out the mirror and then turning off all the power you get from it and doing runs without upgrades
You got better, stupid, and part of what you got better at was choosing good boon combos.
Finally some good fucking GOTY nominee
( ꈍᴗꈍ)
i'd love to hear your opinion on sekiro!
Love your works, man. Definitely agree with you on your opinion on combat in games. I really am not of fan of beating bosses just cuz I got more damage buffs than in my first few tries. I prefer games with meaningful upgrades that don't really turn me into an OP character. I like games that make me think during combat and let me beat boss fights and enemies because I understood their movement patterns and attacks. Also, love that DOOM insert. HAHAHAH. Brilliant.
mayo play metal gear rising revengeance.
I’d highly recommend Sekiro.
Hades is really challenging but I wish there're more attacks that could be chained into combos, then I'd have played it more
Wizard of legend is a good little game just needs online coop but it is couch coop idk about pc I don’t have it on pc.
Please try Devil Daggers! Or at least look up a video on YouTube!
Please do a vid on Project Overkill!!!!!
i domt know if u played hollow knight before but i would love to hear your thoughts about the game, its not an action packed game so im not sure if u would like it that much but i suggest you give it a try. great video btw <3
please do Hotline Miami 1&2
Love how the leading argument for the appeal of this game is that you don't have to move your finger that much😂
Wish that someday you'll sheck out Shank. Great combat loop with strikingly cool combosystem, simular to DmC.
Great to hear your views on this.
"Tough shit." I lol'd
Suggestion for a vid: Bayonetta!
Will you be playing Cyberpunk 2077 my good man?
looks boring imo
You don't grind for unlockables perse but to get skillfull at the game the unlocks only help speed up that learning curve
What!!? Someone who can can point out faults but acknowledge the value of a game to others? 2020 is crazy.
You should really play katana 0
Killing Floor 2 please
ok mayo you need to play Castlevania SotN
