► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. Nemesis is the greek godess of (divine) retribution.
Poseidon is my favorite sword aspect. Mainly because I suck at all the others.
Edit: I hate the green Hydra head with a passion as the main one. It's so bloody annoying.

  2. Hi love your videos so far. If you don't want unsolicited advice please ignore the rest of this comment and have a great day.

You should switch golden touch for deep pockets. Touch gives you 5% of your money when you beat a boss essentially. Because you spend all your money in the shops BEFORE the boss this run it gave you 17 gold. Deep pockets gives you 10 gold per rank at the star to the run (max 100) so it's really hard to get more money than that even at Golden touch maxed out. Golden touch can be great if you decide to skip the first shop and don't buy through tartarus but even then I've only ever gotten about 150ish g from it and I miss a lot of stuff.

I'm sorry, I don't mean anything bad by this. Please keep enjoying the game and making great videos.

  3. I would definitely recommend going back to Chthonic Vitality and maxing out Deep Pockets. Both of those seem to fit your playstyle a lot better. Specifically, Vitality is much much better in Temple of Styx (because there's SOOOOO many more rooms so you heal more) and Deep Pockets is much better when your strategy is to spend money on each shop you come across.

  4. So, I understand that you may still feel somewhat uncomfortable going into the final boss fight without Lucky Tooth, but if you choose your boons and keepsake carefully – you won't need it, ever. 3 DD's is more than enough to survive even if you're not particularly good at the game yet. I felt like I need to point that out because you're missing a lot of really good stuff by not giving up on Lucky Tooth. I'd suggest to try things like Evergreen Acorn and Broken Spearpoint, both of them boost your survivability 10 times better than LT.

Oh, and give God-specific keepsakes a try too. They're insanely useful when you have an idea what boons you want to get early in the escape attempt. That way your builds by the end will always be consistent, or somewhat consistent.

  5. Your performance against Theseus and Asterius is really impressive now. It's pretty obvious to me as a viewer that you've memorized a lot of their patterns and know when to dash to avoid Asterius's attacks and where you position yourself to avoid Theseus's attacks.

A note about the Temple of Styx that the game never tells you: the first chamber you choose will never have the Satyr Sack. Might be helpful for strategizing in the future.

  6. You'll get credits after 10 wins, but there is also an epilogue, and I have no bloody idea how far away is it. I had 63 runs with 38 wins so far and haven't reached epilogue yet. There is also a tonn of personal stories of characters (3 romancaeble + 3 stories of "broken pairs" + Sisyphus' "redemption" – and these are just bigger ones). I really don't think that you are going to turn it in another 100+ episode series, so feel free to stop after credits if you get tired of it.

  7. You really shouldn't feel bad about not completing it, it's supposed to happen a lot more than it did in your case so far lol And your bad "choices" in this run made it pretty funny! Plus there's a lot of ships stuff you didn't see yet.
I know for Eurydice you've been recommended to pick the upgrade 2 boons rarity, but personally I usually pick the upgrade 4 boons lvl and really feel like it's worth more, the difference between +1 rarity and +1 level isn't huge, and with 4 boons you got a better chance to have useful ones upgraded.

  8. Deep pockets tends to be a better than golden touch for a mirror talent do to the fact that most runs you aren’t hoarding enough to make it worth it. It’s also better because it makes early shops better which can give you a boost through the whole run.

aim for special hits twice and special damage upgrades from chaos and poseidons special upgrade which is a terrifying combo if used right

  10. Don't be afraid of using extreme measures to it's full extent! It's a very fun option and it doesn't make things a lot harder than they already are, it's honestly one of my go-tos when it comes to increasing heat. Playing around with heat up to 10-15 or so shouldn't feel all that different to the base heat 0 run, and you don't lose out on any bounties because you ran with too much heat (you just get the rewards of the minimum heat requirement). Excited to see your reaction to the other extreme measures!

  11. Go back and watch in, for example, the Hades fight just how often you see the words "near miss" appear above your head. Then consider trying out the mirror talent that gives you extra damage for a short time whenever you get a near miss. You'll get used to having one dash – it'll make you learn to time your dashes more deliberately and besides, Hermes can mitigate by giving you extra dashes.

Also, don't write off the boon that gives you 20% extra damage after using a death defiance; it was made for that end boss fight where you're almost guaranteed to use one the first load of times you get to it. I don't know if it stacks when you use multiple DDs in one encounter, but even if it doesn't that is still quite a boost and could maybe have been the difference between losing and juuust scraping another win.

  12. You still missing the ring of the bell (the one that signals that you can fish somewhere in the chamber) and that bothers me too much to handle.
Seriously, right after talking with Eurydice! You were rigHT THERE

  13. Stygius takes the most skill to play, I think. I definitely failed a ton of escape attempts when I tried the hidden fourth aspect for the first time. You really have to commit attack patterns to memory, adeptly dash in and out, and ensure you have a strong Cast that can help you with ranged damage. Maybe in your next few runs, regardless of what weapon you play, you can go for one or two new Duo Boons.

  14. Wowwww that bit before the Hades fight about “ongoing Underworld renovations”… should not still be in the game, I’m pretty sure? “Ongoing Underworld renovations” was the lean-on-the-fourth-wall descriptor for anything that was temporary or not yet accessible in Early Access. So, for instance, at the very beginning of EA it was impossible to proceed past the Hydra “due to ongoing Underworld renovations.” I know this video is a few weeks old, wonder if they’ve caught it since then…
