  1. "Hera: she alone has the capacity to keep the other gods in check"
Well, maybe most of the other gods, but definitely not Zeus judging by the sheer amount of myths about his extramarital affairs 😀

  2. Love all the evil eye designs on Polyphemus! Surprised I haven't seen the two combined before, this is such a cool idea. Supergiant have done such a great job at making a fusion of various modern influences with Mediterranean inspirations in their character design. It feels so fresh in a genre of adapting the Greek mythos despite it being one with countless other great works of art.

  3. To give you a little more info on born gain, most magick regen in this game is based on fulfilling x condition (stand in cast, sacrifice % hp, hit enemies and get bubbles, etc…) to get y magick/sec. Hera’s magick gain will kick in once you use your entire magick pool. Say in an encounter you have 140 magick, once you use all your magick it will prime X amount every time (let’s say X = 10) and your new pool will be 140-X (or 130 in this case). You can continue to prime magick but your pool will continue to diminish (140, 130, 120, 110, 100, etc…). What’s so great is that it will reset every encounter, so it effectively makes you have infinite magick

  4. FYI Aspect of Pan with Aphrodite Special Boon is absolutely broken… especially Duo of Apollo is disgusting….like I felt bad for Chronos 😅

  5. "AoE is not good for bosses"
Immediately followed by a boss with multiple body segments getting wrecked by the Hera binding boon and AoE attacks hahaha. The irony worked in your favor this time.

  6. Borne Gain is literally busted. I've only ever completely run out of mana in boss fights after having no mana upgrades and a low quality copy of the boon. It scales exponentially with poms, rarity, and mana upgrades. It's probably the only boon that I'm confident in saying will be nerfed in the future

  7. Ok I have two ideas for who will be the final boss of the surface route 1. Is a brainwashed Zagreus I can even see each fight has him using a different weapon(except the rail) and 2. Is Typhon one of the biggest and deadliest monsters in Greek mythology.

  8. I'm pretty sure you cottoned on to it, but from what I can tell, the design philosophy behind uppies is that it is more of a Draft-Type Run where the run itself IS harder, but you get to hand-pick your build a lot more. Getting 6 guaranteed major finds + a few random small ones before the first boss lets you pick and choose a lot more easily. I do think it's harder, definitely (just beat my first 32 fear surface run yesterday and Oh Boy) but it's a really fun alternate run

Anyway, I died like 6 times to Charybdis, and did not realise that it was just a miniboss until my final successful attempt, because of how much I was struggling with it, so your confused "That was really easy?" made the gamer in me shrivel up and die a little bit. I will say, though: the Hermes 'ranged shots move slower' boon is absolutely incredible in uppies runs. All the bosses and Charybdis have a ton of ranged shots that hit like trucks.

And, similarly, I don't even know how many times I've died to Eris.

  9. The game has finally opened up. Crazy that all this is in the game and it's only EA. Already larger than the first game, by quite a margin. Although with the Fear system, I do hope there is an equivalent of Extreme Measures. Alt versions of these already amazing bosses would be godly.

  10. The boons that slow down projectiles make the Charybdis fight really easy since the explody bombs that it shoots out dont reach the stage and they dont split into the smaller bombs 🤔

That was my experience at least

  11. For the surface with the pylons, would you be able to leave certain encounters without destroying the pylons and be able to then seek out all the rewards? Or does the game force you to destroy them before leaving the encounters?

  12. I was kind of hoping the surface would be modern day and with Chronos opening up the underworld it would be the aftermath of an apocalypse. Who knows, maybe the exit you come out of is in an abandoned village in Greece and Dawn of the Dead is happening just outside your path.

  13. Fun Mythology Fact! Charybdis was a Daughter of Poseidon that got cursed into a monster by Zeus out of pure jealousy, because she was so successful at expanding her father's kingdom. ^^
