  1. Currently at 9:50 but essentially you did a partial sequence break. You were anticipated to have already summons Moros by the time of the surface. When you fisrt died you triggered his recruitment on the surface instead. Usually you die on the surface you trigger a scene with Moros to learn of the special. Essential you were too good at this game for your own good lol.

  2. A bit of a spoiler ig but reto going for the current speed running strat unknowingly is hilarious.
Dude can't stop out gaming the game and the entire hades community 😂

  3. Your thalamus plant will give you both fruits (?) necessary for the incantation so you don't need to look for them. Also, you seemed to cheese the surface a bit with those Death defiances, lol

  4. These vids are becoming my most anticipated daily routine.

I'm not that good, so I actually unlocked the surface before killing Chronos. The pacing felt better that way, I think, because I wanted to deal with Chronos first. Retro is basically suffering from success. 🤣

  5. Around the 15:00 when you’re talking to Skelly, he is right in that you need materials from the surface to make the incantation, specifically moss, only you had already picked up the two required on your trips.

  6. I believe the nemesis showed up if you have accumulated enough failed run, and since you died a lot on the surface it count to this trigger. In way kinda forced to experience it in the end

  7. I actually like the need to not actively get to do the new stuff right away. I get the want to always progress. But I think something people should get with Supergiant Games – Story will trump gameplay at times.aking this a greek trial to overcome. A step that needs to be surpassed? It's way cooler a story for effectively minor slowdown. It doesn't hurt pacing because rougelikes are about replaying anyway. It does let you go to the surface. So you're not prevented. Just given a taster before you are set loose. I love it.

  8. Oh, the story has certainly taken a very unexpected turn. Chronos found The Fates? That's crazy, I'm also curious what the design for them will look like. Death to Chronos, now more than ever!

  9. The sheer amount of sequence breaks/errors in sequencing in this run are honestly hilarious.
The explicit and obvious thing is that you're supposed to already know Moros the first time you head to the surface. This one was avoidable if not for unknowingly selling the plants you needed for the incantation, which… honestly, I don't know why you can SELL plants, especially that early on. I kind of think they should lock it out from you until later in the game, since until you're in the endgame you genuinely shouldn't sell any of them.

The second thing is that, because you should already know Moros, the Hecate dialogue triggered too early, which is obviously just a mistake and I'm sure they'll adjust that.

The third thing, however, is my favourite: They assumed, because of how progression would normally work, that the only resource somebody is likely to lack when working on the surface is Moss, from the surface, and maybe the chaos plant, which is why they put dialogue in to advise players to just go to the surface and gather moss quickly. This would be fine (I do think the mechanic is unintuitive and if they choose to keep moss as a resource it DOES need a dialogue with Skelly to explain it), but for the fact that, again related to the Selling Plants thing and just the fact that there haven't been too many runs with plant gathering involved, that nightshade was the missing resource instead of moss, making Skelly tell you that the only way to get the Missing Resource(tm) was Up, instead of down.

Finally, the missing thing for quite a few runs now: You are not supposed to beat Chronos before you unlock the surface, which is why the Oath has been weird and the upgrades have been placed in a strange order. They just do not expect you to beat Chronos in like 7 runs especially through the Eris boons, because the game is hard and most players aren't that good. I didn't even know you could find Eris in Tartarus, genuinely. I don't think I made it to Tartarus early enough for her to show up even once

    Early access, folks!
