  1. To the point that the Hex feature is a little underused so far; I feel like most Hades II runs are just too short to fit much more into them. In 50 hours I haven’t had a single run where I have fully upgraded my path of stars. Maybe if they added some path of stars to the Express Route part of the run, or if they had a way of guaranteeing a path of stars instead of a Boon, it might be more useful. But besides that, I feel like there are a few functions in Hades II that just don’t see much use because of the fact that the runs are relatively short compared to other Roguelikes.

  2. Boon run rn is kinda disgusting tbh, zeus, apollo, hestia and demeter, all viable the dmg is just off the roof. That's like half if the casts already so you can just force it every run and get somewhat of a decent result

  3. I understand the unseen being expensive and become somewhat redundant when you get a good magick regen boon, but man i just like to have it on and not worry about magick from the beginning. It also makes the vow where you start with 0 magick almost free, since you just start to regen magick

  4. A word of advice regarding buying Moondust: I would recommend trying to avoid buying Ash/Psyche from the broker to use in the Incantation of Shadow –> Shadow from Moondust recipes. Going through those recipes is wildly inefficient over just buying Moondust directly. If you're just purchasing from the Broker, the Ash alone costs more than just buying the Moon Dust directly, never mind the Psyche and Fate Fabric and time spent waiting for the recipes to cook. Treat the recipes as sinks for excess Ash/Psyche, not something you want to ever buy the reagents for.

It's worth noting that ordering Moondust with Charon's Tickets actually gives you the WORST bones-per-ticket value of all the options: 4 tickets gets you 8 Moondust, which means you're getting 160 bones worth of goods per ticket. Compare that to Ash, which gets you 20 for 1 ticket, or 300 bones worth of goods per ticket. That said, the alchemy recipes are still SO inefficient that you're better off using tickets on Moondust rather than using tickets on alchemy ingredients to craft Moondust.

I think the best way to farm Moondust is to use whatever weapon has Grave Thirst, bring the Shovel and Tulla for extra bones (unless you have way more Ash than Psyche, in which case you could bring Frinos), try to take Bones, then Ash, then Psyche (since you have a Tool/Familiar for extra Psyche but no tool for extra Ash) when given the option, pick up free Fate Fabric when offered from Arachne or Narcissus, and try to have enough Gold at the end of the run to buy Moondust if it's available from Charon's final shop.

If you have plenty of Ash/Psyche, order Fate Fabric from Charon: if you have unlimited Ash/Psyche to burn, then ordering Fate Fabric for the alchemy recipes is almost 3x more efficient than ordering Moon Dust. But if you'd have to buy or order Ash/Psyche, order Moon Dust from Charon instead.

  5. It would be cool to have presets that you can save, because for now i found only one way to have the better arcade cards, and i think its the first image of the video

  6. I love the sorceress card, i always use it, but for spedrunning its bad, it would be cool if it slowed down the real time lol, and the fact that it works on the whole game except t he last boss is so annoying!!

  7. The Swift Runner sounds pretty janky. you sohuldn't gt fewer I-frames for something that's supposed to make your dash better. If anything, you should get more_ I-frames because the idea is that you're taking faster evasive action. Why would evading faster and more "swiftly" make you more prone to getting hit? The responsiveness might dampen that or even be worth more than the invulnerabiltiy you lose, but it doesn't make too much sense and I very much doubt it would break the game.

  9. 15:00 I Firmly Disagree. For Rerolls to be considered powerful the List of Boons would actually have to Change… I can't tell you how much in both Hades 1 & 2 Rerolls the Exact Same Items to Appear Again. 😤

  10. Hownstly, i really like the hex charge arcana.
Think a situation like this: ypu have the heal hex, low on health with charges left, no time to charge omega attacks reliably. You run around, dodging attacks, whole it auto charge and you heal, beating the boss

  11. I personally don't pick up the Arcana Cards that provide Change of Fate, as they do not provide any combat advantage directly. I also sometimes get screwed with rerolls. On the other hand, in your case as a Hades streamer, you should get them ALWAYS! 😆

  12. I'm also Surprised you didn't Mention Arcana Of the Ages which requires you to Defeat Chronos with all 25 Cards Active.

Started a New Save to see if it's Actually Possible…. Its just Taking forever to progress to where I can Test it. 😬

  13. Judgement looks more like a for fun/memes type run rather than a pushing progress type run. Looking at it I think my go to build for it would be Titan, Champions, and Eternity to cover all the basic needs of a run. It's also not bad for completing the fated list of minor prophecies

  14. For me unseen is a staple it's just so safe to play omega cast with zeus if it turns out RNG messes up my build. I really don't like most of the mana regen blessings.

  15. Great list.

Yeah, while I like the concept of awakening cards with conditions, I feel like some of the cards costs should be swapped. For example, I find it odd that Excellence (the more rare boons chances card) costs 5, yet the duo boon one and Divinity (the Epic one) both cost zero (although admittedly, with fairly difficult conditions to meet). Some cards at 5 or 6 grasps just don't make sense, and some are grossly too cheap for their value. I feel Boatman at 5 and Origination at 3 for example should have their grasp value be swapped. Origination is basically Hades 2 boosted privileged status, and deserves to be expensive, as it is easily one of the most OP base damage boost of the entire game. In the same vein, Unseen (magic replenish) is way too expensive at 5, and Lovers (up to shield 3 hits from bosses) is way too cheap at 2. These 2 should be swapped too. Or you could make a system where the grasp of each card starts cheaper, and goes up as you level it up ? I don't know.
It's also frustrating to not be able to have both Messenger (10% dodge) and Queen (10% duo boons) activated at the same time, which is a bit of an odd choice, as they don't share any overlapping quality, so it's kinda weird to forbid you to share them on the same run.
All in all, the arcanas cards system is a lot of fun, I like it better than the mirror, but it certainly still has room for fine tuning.
(also hoping each card will have some great Tarot art from Jen Zee)

  16. Had a run where i used the total eclipse, nuke-like, hex, had poseidons double up, procced quite often in the mourning fields so i maxed it out. Had the your attack consumes magick thingy on the axe, so i used magick like crazy and hat it up almost permanently. Made me impervious for like 4 seconds too + like 2500 dmg total. Insane run

  17. before the first patch, swift runner was absolutely essential. Now that it isn't, i think you can definitely take it off if it gets in the way of a specific build, but other then that i think it's a nice QoL arcana to keep on.

  18. I feel like something needs to change with The Artificer – it looked like a nice effect to use once you were done with meta progression, but at 6 it's just not worth it. I feel like it should be an awakening effect that trades off (similar to the duo/dodge cards) with something that gives you MORE meta resources so the grind is a bit reduced and when you're done, you see less of it. I don't even think the grind needs to be reduced as I finished everything ~50 hours which feels fine, but in its current state the card just sucks lol

  19. Ahhh yes… "Judgement"…
Earlier I saw on the fated list that it was the only card I hadn't beaten Cronos with, yet, and… well, 5 nightmares as a reward is a big deal, so I went for it.
Where my thickheadedness got in the way is that I tried to keep going with my ever-growing fear runs to earn even more nightmares. So I went in with Judgement at 24 fear…
    It was not fun…

  20. About the queen – if you want it activated while using all of your grasp, your only option is having two of 1-5 grasp cards (maybe swapping one of the 1g for a 6). No wonder its inconvenient.
