Gabriel Di Pasqua realizes this ep in a difficult period for his health. “The Lair of Hades” represents a slow descent into the underworld and his choruses accompanying the fall into the unknown of the oblivion. The textual words of the 2nd track “Oblivion” are sung by Gabriel himself in a moment of despair, trying to go back towards the light:
