► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. God, the character designs and portraits are beautiful , Eurydice's is one of my favs. Speaking of which, when you meet her "guy," check out the music for Hadestown; it retells their myth and it's one of the best recent musicals in years

  2. I think Zagreus is a demi-god, meaning he's half-human. the Greek gods, especially Zeus, were known to get down with humans on occasion. I think one of Zagreus' eyes being red and the other being more normal is an indicator, too.

  3. I'm loving your playthrough and hope you continue figuring stuff out yourself. I will say you're doing a lot better than I did. It took me longer to learn certain things and I think I was a lot less methodical with learning and doing stuff with the various gameplay mechanics, but also most of my runs were much shorter than yours, usually 30-ish minutes.

  4. Congratulations on defeating the Hydra! And welcome to Elysium, where scenery is pretty and everything else is terrible.

"Something hit me, but I don't know what." Take your pick!
    – the pink butterflies (each of them deals only a little bit, but there's a lot of them)
    – archer shooting at you from downtown (the pink crosshair mean it's aiming at you and will shoot in a moment)
    – trap you didn't notice (the statues have stabby spears)
    – some other Elysium BS
Have fun! The boss here is a doozy .

  5. The dude was Orpheus. His wife Eurydice died, but he played and sang a sad ballad of her death which softened the hearts of Hades and especially Persephone. He was granted a boon by Hades that he could take his wife back to the surface and get her out of Hades, on the condition that he would walk in front of her and could never look back or she would disappear back to the underworld. He kept thinking maybe he had been deceived and she was not behind him but still resisted the temptation to look behind. When they reached the surface and he stepped into daylight, he could finally look back at her and see her beautiful face, so he turned around. But Eurydice hadn't stepped out yet, so the condition was still in effect and she vanished.

  6. Zagreus' mother is most likely Persephone, Hades' wife and goddess of the seasons. The reason she's not around is possibly because she's visiting Demeter right now. In other words, it's spring or summer.
