► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis
Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

God, the character designs and portraits are beautiful , Eurydice's is one of my favs. Speaking of which, when you meet her "guy," check out the music for Hadestown; it retells their myth and it's one of the best recent musicals in years
I think Zagreus is a demi-god, meaning he's half-human. the Greek gods, especially Zeus, were known to get down with humans on occasion. I think one of Zagreus' eyes being red and the other being more normal is an indicator, too.
A helpful tip that I didn't notice until recently: you can trigger the Spears aoe in a direction if you tap dodge while you're built up.
On the barge of death the blue crystals are the ones who give the shields so you should kill them first.
Hydra is different each time you fight her, just as her "heads". The reason you fought skulls is because she spawned "head"s that could spawn them.
One of the reasons you've got so far with hydra (despite being really good overall) is because of the high crit chance on attack (Artemis boon).
Ah, Elysium. This is the most dangerous part of the run, if you can get past it you can generally get to the final boss. If you cant… well you've seen that outcome already.
Also the Dusa is actually a pun.
"Maid Dusa". Medusa.
Got it?
A tip, if you use the Call when the God Gauge is at full, you will get an extra effect. Usually extended time.
Zagreus is the son of Hades and Persephone.
I'm loving your playthrough and hope you continue figuring stuff out yourself. I will say you're doing a lot better than I did. It took me longer to learn certain things and I think I was a lot less methodical with learning and doing stuff with the various gameplay mechanics, but also most of my runs were much shorter than yours, usually 30-ish minutes.
Hades is not hell.
Congratulations on defeating the Hydra! And welcome to Elysium, where scenery is pretty and everything else is terrible.
"Something hit me, but I don't know what." Take your pick!
– the pink butterflies (each of them deals only a little bit, but there's a lot of them)
– archer shooting at you from downtown (the pink crosshair mean it's aiming at you and will shoot in a moment)
– trap you didn't notice (the statues have stabby spears)
– some other Elysium BS
Have fun! The boss here is a doozy .
I love Ashley Barret's voice! (The Good Riddance song) So glad that she's in this game too!!
Butterfly Ball is the shittiest miniboss, can't fault you for dying to that xD
I just want to say that you are REALLY good at this game. I mean it.
Also, it's amazing how you pick up on stuff so fast! Are you a detective or something? Your deduction powers are over 9000!
Love this!!💗
Elysium is heaven. Only Tartar is hell.
"one thing I need to do is stop being so negative" hell yeah now you're getting into the spirit, it's all about strength of will (and mechanical skill I guesssssss but that comes with more runs)
Tip: When you hit an armored foe, they count as undamaged as long as they still have armor. Only health bar damage makes an enemy count as damaged.
The dude was Orpheus. His wife Eurydice died, but he played and sang a sad ballad of her death which softened the hearts of Hades and especially Persephone. He was granted a boon by Hades that he could take his wife back to the surface and get her out of Hades, on the condition that he would walk in front of her and could never look back or she would disappear back to the underworld. He kept thinking maybe he had been deceived and she was not behind him but still resisted the temptation to look behind. When they reached the surface and he stepped into daylight, he could finally look back at her and see her beautiful face, so he turned around. But Eurydice hadn't stepped out yet, so the condition was still in effect and she vanished.
Let's be fair. Elysium is closer to hell than anywhere. Especially those damn butterfly balls.
the spear has a combo where each consecutive strike does more damage
you had chain skewer on your special, doom works really well with it
its not hell XD
Zagreus' mother is most likely Persephone, Hades' wife and goddess of the seasons. The reason she's not around is possibly because she's visiting Demeter right now. In other words, it's spring or summer.
Youre really getting into the role of rebellious teenager huh XD

Eurydice. She's the wife of Orpheus, right?
It's nice that she sings, too.
It is impressive how invested one can become in these games, even when watching.

Well you got it from Achilles, he has the whole Achilles' Heel thing going on
let's not min-max everything. 5 minutes later: we don't have any powerful attacks. Well.
