  1. Few people shoot a 22 cal Hades at 1100 fps though. Most are 950 and below, and at those speeds they barely start to expand on real game. I have recovered several of both 22 and 25 cal Hades from small game like rabbits and squirrels that were fired at 950 and 965 FPS respectively, and have them in my collection. They simply do not expand like they did in the gel at much higher speeds. regardless of their expansion (or lack thereof), they seem to kill a lot better than std diabolo pellets and most HP's. If you want awesome expansion from the average pellet gun, try the H&N Barracuda's (not the Extreme which do not expand much either) the std Hunter's expand very wide on real game.

  2. Just had a .25 caliber Raptor delivered Thursday can't wait to get a scope on it and see what it will do. It's tuned for 34 gr pellets at 880 fps. I was out pesting yesterday shooting .22 Hades at 930 fps and they do the job.

  3. I’m just here cuz I love Rick’s videos!

P.S: as for Hades, i cans get any accuracy out of them past 50 yards in .22 or .25 cal. They slow down way too fast.

  4. Rick, why would you shoot a pellet at 1100 FPS when you've said in the past that pellets are most accurate with a muzzle velocity around 900 FPS? This is a disingenuous test, you and your channel are better than this. If the folks at JSB/Predator put you up to shooting these pellets at 1100 FPS to over-exaggerate their expansion, then shame on them. I shoot both the Hades and Polymag in my .22 cal airguns that I use for pesting, they're fantastic, but please provide realistic expectations for your audience.

Imagine if you showed how the Raptor has a power adjustor and an externally adjustable regulator, and you tweaked those to shoot the pellet at a accurate speed. Then you could show the pellet's expansion at the speed the pellet is most accurate at… that would be a solid (and honest) video for your sponsors and your fans.

Your videos are the reason I bought my first PCP airgun years ago. Those videos had solid and honest reviews, please work back towards that.

To the newcomers of the airgun world:
-Very few pellets are accurate past 25 yards at speeds above 900FPS, this due to the shape of the diabolo pellet and physics.

-If you want more "knock down power" you have to either: pick a larger caliber gun/barrel, pick a heavier pellet while keeping the speed close to 900 FPS, or shoot heavier slugs (a projectile shaped like a bullet) at ~1000 FPS. You can shoots slugs acurrately at higher speeds due to the different shape…and physics :). Many airguns can't shoot a heavy slug at 1000FPS, but that Raptor sure can.

My apologies if this comment came off like an aggressive rant, I don't believe its ethical to misinform. All the products in this video are great (JSB/Predator pellets, JSAR Raptor), there is no need to imbelish or mislead, i hope that was unintentional.
