Good Riddance (Hades) with Chords | Cover by Gustavo Steiner

Acoustic cover of Good Riddance – Orpheus and Eurydice’s song from the game Hades.
Composed by Darren Korb.

Thank you so much to Eva for the wonderful suggestion for this week’s cover! Good Riddance is a song from the game Hades. It is sung by both Eurydice and Orpheus separately, and if you manage to join them, it becomes a duet. The mood of this song really captures the essence of the Greek mythology of Orpheus and Eurydice, and it was a pleasure to learn and record it. I’ll be listening to more of the songs from the game!

I personally feel a special connection with the story of Orpheus, ever since I first listened to Monteverdi’s opera: Orfeo. That music always transports me to a different world, and it has such an exciting and mystical power to it! I’ve done a lot of research on the role of Orfeo, and even learned and performed a few of his solos. Do you have any myths you’re absolutely in love with?

I hope you enjoy the video =)

  1. This text is right in the right box! What a great version! I admit that I missed out on the original a bit by not even considering the lyrics, and that was a shame.
And nice place again full of sun and luminosity.
I have listened to the other titles in the game, and in fact there are few other songs. I had spotted this one and here is a cover with harmonies. (reminds me a bit of "Lullaby a Woe")

  2. I did not know this song existed until today, haven't played Hades yet, so I was blown away by this overwhelmingly beautiful rendition. It feels like the perfect song for the end of the world. It transmits a sweet sense of melancholy and relief, like a feeling that something has ended for good. You really did a great job here, my dear friend. Your voice is magical and powerful, but also soft and tender, and fits the emotional theme of the song perfectly. You surpass yourself easily with every song!

  3. Hi Gustavo, I love your all your songs! If you're taking suggestions for video game music, would you consider making a cover of Fear Not This Night from Guild Wars 2? I'd love to hear your take on it!
