Without spoilering: Toy around with the alternate mirror options, they help with health and money management
Also, the underworld is littered with urns like every single one any Link broke was killed and ended up there, just look out, Dusa's feather duster is great mid-game
Quick Tip for the security rooms (minion rush): When you defeat foes, you receive coins. In the rush room, the faster you defeat them, the more coin you get.
Damage wise Boons like Hangover or Zeuses Bonus lightning work better on smaller fast hitting attacks. Similarly large % Attack boons work better on harder hitting (including charged) attacks.
Didn't realize it was a Harpy Feather Duster. Yugioh references.
Sysiphus keepsake is good for Tartarus because you don’t start out with any boons, so you just start with better damage and go from there.
Dan, one thing you might consider, the items from well of Charon (the purple pool shops), often have limited duration. So passing on them to get items from Charon himself is often better.. If one is nearing the end of the run that changes, but Tartarus they might not be worth the gold… (except healing)
Exceptions abound, of course.. Really enjoying watching you play and enjoy the game.
Ah, you've reached THAT point in the game, where it starts mixing up the bosses a bit even without your permission. Meg gets randomly shuffled with her sisters Tisiphone (Ms. MURRRRDERRRERRRR) and Alecto (who's tickled pink by your red blood). You may not have noticed during play, but there are a number of different bone hydra heads that do different attacks (the green-crested ones spawn minions, and the others throw waves, toss lava, spit seeking bolts, etc. I believe they all have the slam) and they'll take turns being the 'primary' head, which enhances their abilities (the wave-tosser will lay out broader swaths instead of only 3 at a time and more frequently, the lava-bomber covers more of the field with each volley, and the bolt-spitter will suddenly machine-gun out a stream instead of a few slower ones like you saw in this video).
I think you're doing yourself a disservice by not using your specials more. Especially when picking boons. For example, Doom and Hangover are great for the bow special as Doom allows you to give a high flat damage attack to multiple enemies in one attack and if you have Hangover you can use the special as a shotgun and give one enemy a max stack all at once. I also think the reason you did better with the shield before was because you were using the special a lot more. The shield special is great for applying status affects from your boon to multiple enemies from far away. A good rule of thumb for most weapons is that damage boosting specials are better for the high damage single hit attacks and status effects are better for multiple hit low damage attacks, especially when the status effect can stack. Doom is my favorite as it can be further boosted by more Aries boons to do more damage and stack.
I personally loved the shackle for a starting item. You can skip boons that buff your main damage dealer if they are low quality and still do OK, especially early game.
Thanos is the Greek god of the dead.
Kind of like their grim reaper
Sees title:
Murder?
Edit: Murder!
Tip of the Day (late): Charon choices shows up twice in each realm; he's kinda the progress marker. Once about halfway and the other right before the boss. Unlike the other choices, these are guaranteed to appear. Whether you choose them are not is up to you.
A few minor hints:
– Multiple casts in one target does not stack your damage boost.
– The bow's special is really strong at close range as multiple arrows can hit a single target.
– The bow's special is really strong when paired with a stacking effect (like hangover).
– You are spending way too much money on the Wells of Charon, leaving no money for Charon shops.
– The skeleton keepsake is always the last death defiance to proc, so you can swap to it when you enter asphodel (or even later when you feel like you can make it past asphodel safely).
– There are always two Charon shops per zone, one at the half way point and one right before the boss.
– The room before a zone boss is always a freebie, whether you choose the Charon shop or any other option.
well not realy 4 casts of 30 deal 120 while 3 casts of 30 *37% is 41.1*3=123,3 so the percent is still better, plus you can get god casts witch turn the base 30 to anywhere up to 400 …. btw the Scisifus one is only best in the first area and then switched out … its pretty much a handicap for the first few floors …
Hey, good job surviving the Fury surprise, as I like to call it. I sure didn't the first time…
I generally try to save money for proper chaton shops, and I try to only go if I have about 250+ gold (for boon + pomegranate usually), then charon gives me more "room bonuses" than a regular room would
Just to add to what others have been saying :
The bow special can act like a shotgun, especially against bosses
Nectars are a way to work toward other rewards eventually. And there’s also quests! And other things!
Its interesting watching this and seeing how the bow can be good in the right hands. For me it is my weakest weapon, and I excel with the close range combat weapons instead. Just goes to show that games like this can be played in a multitude of different ways. Keep up the good fight!
I'm so glad you finally gave Blade Rifts a fair shot.
I know this is old, but eh, it'll help analytics and possibly someone else in the comments. But for the rail, I highly recommend switching the reload key bind.
I really wish there was a conversation between Charon and Tisiphone 😂
btw, my best weapon is Shield – my Secret to Success(tm) is I almost never use the normal attack. I always use the charged attack. This means I'm blocking most of the time and unless enemies get behind me I rarely get hit. Shield is more of a slow methodical weapon imo. It also feels a little broken to me sometimes lol. IIRC I beat Bone Hydra with shield before beating Meg with any other weapon
Turning down Divine Flourish on the bow. 🤦 How to EVISCERATE the witchers circle without taking any damage.
Maybe one day Dan will pick up festive fog and fully convert to the ways of the modified cast. Only way to live as far as I'm concerned.
> Has Athena dash
> Avoids as many projectiles as possible and plays super scared of them all anyway
Oh Dan…
I know you're well past this point by now, but is there a reason the pots/jars aren't broken?
I could have sworn there was mention in previous videos of them potentially having health in them.
EDIT: I do so love how respectful your protagonist is. Sir-ing everyone.
EDIT 2: 35:52 Ah… You need to equip something for that to be possible. Okay.
Did Chaos really just go "Don't say anything, unless I ask you to. Or do, I'm not your mother." when they're literally the creator of everything?
Is this lets play gonna show the true ending, after 10 playthroughs??
I can't wait until [redacted] when Dan finally learns the difference between [redacted] and [redacted].
Takes Dusa's trinket… then doesn't hit a single urn. 🤦🏻♂️
chaos: speakn't
