“Why RTA? What is RTA?”
RTA stands for Real Time Attack and means that it’s a normal timer that begins when the run starts and ends when Chronos is dead, no pauses. Compared to using the in-game timer (IGT) which pauses during menus and certain rooms, decision making speed is very important in RTA. While IGT is a more popular category, I’ve been enjoying going for real time to avoid pause buffering strats and test my menuing skills.
