  1. I'm definitely going to miss this series, it's been great Dan. Maybe you could return once in a while, for a one off, like with Hollow Knight? You could do a full extreme measures run? Or show off the secret aspects? Maybe finally gift some ambrosias?

  2. Dan, I kind of want to challenge you to fight Charon again! Might be a nice goal after the tenth escape, and maybe I just want to see a single tweet about you beating Charon

  3. Dan, there is so much content left after you hit credits, "hitting credits" in Hades is basically like getting through half the game, there's an entirely seperate storyline that follows it up, new character interactions, new game mechanics, just… just so much content. PLEASE don't stop playing this after you hit credits you will be missing out on so much content, and given the popularity of this side series I can guarentee you that people will keep watching.

  4. 6:25 "Manage, and avoid damage." Manage damage?

I believe in you Dan! I think you'll get the hat trick this week!

I'm surprised you haven't gotten the fun Hydra rng (Unless that one is based on number of runs) or the fun(?) Styx mini-boss.

I just finished all the story content (main and post game) on my file. It made me more sad to be done than I expected. Once you finish your playthrough here, I'm going to have a Hades shaped hole in my Hades shaped heart. (Not to say you should play the epilogue on my account, I trust your judgment on when to end the series.)

  5. Just going to state here that if you want to keep playing this (or Darkest Dungeon or stardew, any games where the plot isn't consistent and they're grindy and take a time investment) and releasing just the raw recordings on a new channel like it was a twitch stream (or just start streaming on twitch), I'd be here for it and I'm sure there's a number of other viewers who would be as well.

  6. I have never seen anyone so devoted to collecting every single centaur heart in the underworld as Dan is. I usually consider a 250-ish health pool good enough for the final fight of the run, so watching Dan lean SO heavily into max health boggles my mind a bit

  7. Personally, I would have taken the Hermes path first in Styx purely because of Side Hustle triggering per chamber.

It does feel like you're forgetting the option to reroll choices – particularly late in a run when there's so few opportunities left to use it, it seems like you might as well. Personally, I'd have used the reroll on that last Artemis boon, hoping to roll Support Fire for the added arrow damage to every single sword slash.

I much prefer Divine Strike to Divine Flourish with the sword – it's a lot easier to defend against projectiles with multiple slashes to work with, and as a combo with Flurry Slash, it leaves you practically immune to attacks from the front. The special's just a bit slow to reliably get reactive deflects off. Of course, you didn't know Flurry Slash was where the build was headed when you picked the early boons, so that's luck of the draw rather than any sort of reflection on your decisions as they happened.

Purely for myself, I love Cursed Slash for the sword – it is pretty risky in terms of slashing your max HP but it makes up for it by keeping your health topped up in most situations…

  8. Dan, if you feel you have less money than you like when going to Charon, you can always choose the free other choice instead. Think of it like this: If you can only buy one upgrade from the shop anyway, you might as well get a free upgrade and get two upgrades from Charon in the next shop. Since this shop is in the middle of a zone it is also likely that the non-Charon room you are giving up is just keys, darkness or gems.
While I'm giving advice: Invest in the mirror upgrade that increases the frequency of boons. It makes a big difference.

  9. I'm waiting with bated breath to see if Dan will next time unlock the last aspect of the sword. Seems like he won't be using it again, which is a shame, that aspect is super cool.

  10. 'All of us made our choices. Now we have to live with them.'
nobody seems to notice that the Prince of the Underworld, unlike the rest, has lived entirely defined by other people's choices.
hence, he is making a few of his own.

sidenote, one of my favorite things about this game is how the bass player keeps riffing on between battles when all the other music fades. play that funky music.

  11. Having a knock-away boon on the special and attack with the Sword gets hilarious in Temple of Styx rooms, which as you've seen are really cramped. I've cleared a room legit by just spamming special and attack like crazy and smashing enemies into the wall. The damage for that strategy can get even more ridiculous if you take that one upgrade boon that makes it to where enemies take something like 200% damage when smashed against barriers.

  12. Not that it'll matter if you're just playing up to the credits, but my personal favorite aspect of the Stygian Blade is Poseidon's Aspect where you dislodge bloodstones when you hit with a special. It pairs really well with Artemis's Cast and her special ability that does extra damage when the bloodstones fall out of the target.

  13. Oh, worth mentioning, Hermes has a boon that increases movement speed. The only reason I mention this is by taking that boon, he might follow up with one that converts movement speed to damage, with the epic version being 100% speed-to-damage. Good times,

  14. Remember that different gods' boons are better for different strategies, and pair together in certain ways. It can be good to use the relic from a specific god to summon them into your run. Once you've found them once, they're added to the rotation for the rest of the run

  15. I'm gonna agree with a lot of others here and say you should turn on full Extreme Measures just to see what the changes in all the bosses are, Elysium especially is very fun!

Did Zag just imply that Asterius can't get laid in Elysium because he's a minotaur?
Asterius must have made a quick trip to Asphodel because he's been burned!
