I highly suggest your first Nectar go to Skelly. You'll find out why. Just remember to equip them at the Cabinet in the training room.
Much like Ross discovered, the most ideal starting traits are the extra Dash and the Death Defiances. Beeline these.
I would suggest your first keys go to your Mirror more than weapons, but I will say personally that Sword is at the bottom of my tier list. Literally the last weapon I beat the game with. So you can of course feel free to unlock whatever weapon suits your fancy.
I know the shield makes you feel like Captain America, but the spear makes you feel like Thor, and just wait until you get the Hulk hands
