Hades | A Serious Hangover | #6

Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018. Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

  1. I'm enjoying your runs Pally, but you're hurting me with your aversion to taking cast boons. The reason your cast is generally meh is because you're not upgrading it. The cast boons change the cast a LOT, making it behave very differently. The cast also generally deals a LOT of damage. Festive Fog for example deals more damage in one hit than your bow special deals if you manage to hit with the entire shotgun. The cast is limited in uses for a very good reason.
You also disliked blade rift, but watching your run with it, blade rift was doing a lot of work. Sure, it whiffed a few times, but there were also plenty of times where it dealt way more damage than you were giving it credit for. Give it another shot, maybe after you unlock the third cast stone?

  2. Doesn’t get any damage boosts
Pallytime: I think my damage is started to fall off 😪
    🤣🤣🤣
I think the 50% damage increase while 3 targets are hungover, and 50% damage to armor would’ve kept your damage high 🤷🏽‍♂️ u choose the slow and gold 🤷🏽‍♂️

  3. A thing to note about boons, the gods will normally only offer boons of up to epic rarity, however rarity can be higher then that, to get a boon of higher rarity and power is tricky, but 1 method is to pick a boon from 1 god and then other gods can offer a replacement boon which will normally be of higher rarity, this is the most reliable way to get boons of heroic rarity or higher

  4. Each run will have a weapon that's pulsing purple. You get +20% darkness if you use that weapon. For early game it's great for learning them all and farming a resource you'll need a lot of. A LOT if I'm to understand endgame.

  5. Pally, the expensives stuff for the trader in the lounge is when you already have buyed the important stuff but want to get stuff overwise, for example, killing the hydra one time gives you 10 gifts for other characters to get their heirlooms or just to give cerberus more treats.

  7. At 28mins you're talking about the upgrade to special for consecutive hits. That is meant to buff single target damage, so the spread shot is garbage for it. There is an aspect that homes it to the target of your last attack, and in that case the consecutive hit is insanely strong. Your baseline special sends 9 arrows, the baseline aspect sends 3 homing arrows. You can upgrade one additional arrow with titan blood several times AND get a daedalus hammer upgrade to add 4 more arrows.

These are things to consider in the late game after you've accumulated a lot of titan blood. Early game you'll want to focus on just doing one aspect per weapon so you don't invest too much blood.
