  1. Less of a game tip and more of a mental one, after every run (especially ones you don't complete while you're still trying to escape the first time) tell yourself "good run" and identify something you did well at and something you could do better on next time. It can be really demoralizing to make it someplace farther than you've been before only to lose, so it's a good habit to recognize the importance of each incompleted run towards improving

  2. I did not know about corner status. You missed the stacking curse tip. You should aim to have two different curses on two attacks. The easiest is poison and weak. With 2 curses you will deal more dmg based on the mirror bonus for that effect.

  3. Another tip: You are ALWAYS guaranteed 2 Daedalus hammers; one in Tartarus/Asphodel, one in Elysium/Styx. If you skip it, it will appear again in the next biome or in Charon's shop. You are also guaranteed 4 different god boons, 5 if including hermes.

  4. I started a few days ago and while I've gotten pretty far (lost against the last boss), there are still a ton of things I was unclear on before watching the video.

"Cornered," "body slam," pillar damage, and pressure plate mechanics are things I wasn't totally clear on (wasn't sure if enemies were immune without me first deflecting the projectile ones, also didn't notice that Styx enemies walk on them).

I also had NO IDEA about armored enemies. I knew gold enemies had double health bars but I had assumed at first that it was just their own death defiance. Then I saw the term "privileged status" online and thought that's what it was. Now that I know they're considered "armored," I have a completely different perspective on boons/upgrades that apply extra armor damage.

  5. Even as a veteran player of Hades, this was beneficial to me – I'd never noticed the cornered status. That actually makes me want to give Poseidon a run or two, rather than my usual dates with Artemis and the Chiron bow.

The thing I wished I knew in my first few runs: charging bullrush on the shield blocks attacks that land from the front. I was too busy playing underworld Frisbee to realise it.

  6. Bravo sir. I clicked on the video, saw < 1000 subs, and thought "Huh, a new-ish youtuber. This'll probably be painful to watch and I'll probably know all of this already, but who knows, maybe there'll be an unusual and useful tip in here somewhere." Then I watched the video and it was all-around one of the best game guide videos I've seen in the past couple of years. The ideas were explained clearly and concisely, the background footage not only actually had something to do with what you were saying but tended to be effective at illustrating your points, and the tips were useful things that you can play for quite a while without noticing for yourself. Both the script and visuals were edited with restraint so I never felt like skipping "to the good bits" or wondered why on earth you put something in or didn't cut something out. Thank you and well done.

  7. Great video! Thanks for making this, it cleared up a few mechanics I wasn't aware of.
I have an unrelated question though – do you always tilt your head sideways when talking irl or is it just a camera thing?

    And again, thanks!
