Hades – Best pellets for rats?

Will these Hades pellets work better than regular pellets with rats? I will have to try them in order to find out in my next rat shoot. I have shot these Hades only on paper in the past and never used them for pests because they just didn’t hold tighter groups compared to the AA or JSB pellets especially at further distances. Since I have to be more careful shooting rats at the location where there are ducks and chicken in the way, I have to try something that have less chance of a pass thru.

So in this video I decided to give them another go and see if I can shoot them a bit more consistent with my HW100T. They did group well up to 30 yards and that is okay because that will be my range at the farm anyway.

Weather has been bad lately so I haven’t had a chance to shoot any rats for over 5 weeks now. Hopefully when I do go back there will be more rats around to participate with my target shooting.

Enjoy.

  1. Great explanation about the difficulties of shooting in the dark! I’ve shot pigeons, sparrows and starlings in the dark and even without the added work of filming, it is more difficult to make good shots. Looking forward to seeing how the Hades work!

  2. Try the 16gr polymags by jsb/ Predator.
Those will hit like a Mac truck!
Very accurate out of my Gamo urban.

If they don't fit in your magazine all you need to do is clip the very very tip with finger nail clippers. If you buy the long version. If you buy the shorts then no worries. You'll just have to see which version is more accurate.
They will open up way more that the hades. Hades are great don't get me wrong. If you want more expansion use the polymags.

  3. One other quick comment from my experience and I think others in YouTube. The hades need to go upper 800s even into the low 900s to really open up and turn the head into a shreader. They'll still hit hard and cause damage at slower speeds, but to open the head into 3 sections that have flesh cutters on the outer edges I think you'll need those faster speeds. Also, hades seem to be more accurate at closer ranges. At least out of the guns I have.

  4. Thanks Cliff for the info. I am running these Hades at 895fps and accuracy is good to 40 yards. I only need to shoot these rats up to 50 yards so I think I might be okay. If I have too many misses then I will switch back to AA or Baracuda.
