Hades | Can I Beat Hades With His Own Weapon? | #14

Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018. Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

  1. Damn still didn't beat it 🙁 I wish I could tell you something like your boons or bad or something but they're not, truth is you're just taking way too many unnecessary hits… However your keepsakes… I could recommend using spiked collar in elysium to try and hold on to your death defies, and swapping to either lucky tooth (another rez 100hp at rank 3) or the acorn you just got from eurydice which is kind of a crutch that aot of people use for the hades fight because it just completely blocks some of those unnecessary hits at the start. Hope this helps if you end up finding this comment pally 🙂

  2. I’m playing along with you Pally. I got just as close on a Malphon run this evening. I had stacked a full Athena build with deflect on my dash, special and cast. I had a charged special that hit three times, blade zones and Doom on my attacks from Ares and triple dash from Hermes. I went in with 300hp and four death defied. I did super well in phase 1, Barry took damage…then I lost my cool in phase 2 and got annihilated. Don’t worry about breaking the pots in phase 2, just stay alive and stay cool and you’ll get it.

Also seriously check each room before leaving. You missed like four fish and two troves this run.

  3. Pally my dude, keep in mind that sometimes the boons from a same god are different. Like Ares, he has some Doom, and has some blade rifts, they don't work the same.

Zeus has CHAINlightning (bounces between enemies), and lightning BOLTS (comes from above and strikes the ground), those are different too, and if a boon says that improves the BOLTS, it won't improve the CHAINS.

Most importantly the festive fog of dionisius does NO DAMAGE, it makes a big damage on landing, but the standing fog itself just stuns, and has nothing to do with hangover. The only "hangover" effect you had was your call, so taking he extra damage when multiple enemies have hangover, was kind of a waste since it'll happen very very rarely.

I know it's a bit hard to pay attention to the little details, but it matters and should be taken into account when deciding between empowering some effects or others

  4. You should really check the boon guide through the olympian gods in codex so you can understand the requirements for different boons like legendaries, duos and even that beloved support fire of yours

  5. I love watching pally learn and comment… it took me probably 20 runs to start beating theseus and the minotaur without losing death defiance charges and that made it easier to beat hades consistently. You'll get there pally!

  6. As a general rule I don't like it backseat game, but one tip I might have pally playing this game is to try and focus on boons and get a build started in the first 2 floors with maybe health upgrades once or twice from the shop, but then go all in on health in the last floor if it pops up always that door, if you can go in to Theseus and Asterius with at least 200 it drastically eases the fight especially if you are focusing Theseus.

  7. The Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice is a really good one. I won't spoil just in case but this game does an excellent job of how their relationship might be in the afterlife!

  8. Just watched you download BG3 in like 20 minutes and I'm watching a 400mb update download taking nearly an hour so far. Feels fucking bad.
There is also a boon by Demeter that sets two random boons rarity to white, then every 3 rooms they both get upgraded. Had some laughs with that.

  9. You had access to after party much earlier and it was much better. (45%) so next time maybe pick it up as soon as you see it. Also the way it works is after an encounter. So when you kill the last enemy.

Also the noon rarity items and such are for booms not rooms. So money and gems and such won’t affect it. Only booms from gods.
