“HADES” is a big megacollab by many great creators that I’ve followed for varying amounts of time. Some of them have been around nearly as long as me in the creating scene, while others are more recent. This makes for an interesting mix of parts from start to finish. It leans towards design style for the most part, and it’s easy to tell the difference between the older and more recent creators in their stylistic choices. It may sound like I’m building up to this being a negative thing, but it’s the opposite. If this was all to mention about the visuals, it may have been awkward switching between these two approaches to the style. However, due to a consistent color scheme and subtle theme in every part, they’re tied together just enough for me. In other words, this strikes a good balance between uniqueness in style and cohesiveness in theme and color from part to part in my opinion.
Of course, being a megacollab, there’s bound to be some inconsistency in quality between parts, and that’s no different here (nor do I think we will ever see a megacollab without it). This is true for both the visuals and the gameplay, but perhaps most noteworthy in the latter. There are a few parts around the middle that feel awkward to play, especially in how you transition from one to the other. I’m sure you can tell that some of the transitions are somewhat abrupt on video too. This is also a typical issue in megacollabs. Despite this, though, the team behind this did a pretty good job merging and balancing the level overall. I found it enjoyable to play and beat, especially as a big fan of many of these creators. With everything in mind, I think this deserves an Epic Medium Demon rating.

The first two parts and entire second half of the level look great, but everything in the middle just feels empty and static to me. A shame really, since this would have undeniably been an excellent level otherwise but it just got bogged down by inconsistency in quality
