Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018. Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

Hello Pallytime! Everyone here…
33:45 – leveling a single boon up falls of pretty fast, giving diminishing returns but increasing the rarity not only gives you more stats than a level up but also makes all past and future level ups of that boon more potent. Also it is noteworthy that upgrading a boon that is already Epic (Lilac) in it's rarity makes it somewhat special but I won't go into that too much for minimal spoilery reasons.
You will come around to blade rift once you discover certain other stuff dont worry for skiping it for now
Blade rifts are amaizing in a duo boon (gods have combo boons) , then the blade stuff will follow the enamy i hope u give it a go in the future
And knowing is half the battle, GI Time!
Pally, you can trade gemstones for keys, assuming you don't feel like upgrading the house.
That whirlwind blade cast thing gets pretty good when you get the other boons for it. Increased speed, tracks enemies, stacking damage, bigger aoe. And +cast crystals lets you spin out a ton of them.
I started playing Hades again because of this video series, something about your pure excitement made me need to play it again
What is with the " my dudes"??? He never spoke like this before?
you can check dusa in the logs you have more tabs for other gods and minor creatures such as dusa aswell.
Definitely considering buying this game now
yeah!
I was unsure for a while on the rare or level thing for the Eurydice stuff. To save you some confusion, rarity makes levels better. A rare boon at +2 is better then a normal boon at +3 usually. Since boons get less benefits the more you level them, if you want to level something a lot, upping it's rarity is a good call if you can.
Loving the series! <3 Just a small tip in case you didnt know your dash will go over walls or pits or whatever so you dont need to walk around them. Still at the start of the video so you might find out later on and if so ignore me!
Loving Hades. Would definitely watch it if you made more.
A note about the logbook, it's written by Achilles.
Edit: and you can learn more about Dusa.
I dont know pally, if a girl is mad at you maybe you should give her a gift instead of everytime giving it to the adorable dog!
Can't help to notice that in the room before you died, you went with a pom upgrade, rather then getting the HEALING food. And then you died. Remember, while doing slightly more damage can help fights be over slightly quicker, running out of health will KILL you. Need to focus on HP at least a bit.
<3 pally the narrator and zag are so good haha
hades every day would be lovely and every run can be different enough
ares has a lot of upgrades for blage rifts and 3 blade rifts boons
25:24 there is upgrade for that I belive it's a duo boon of artemis and ares
gotta say. its so fun playing the game, and it is fun to watch pally playing the game while sitting and chilling.
Pally the Blade Dash upgrade stays at the location where you dashed from…so it acts more like how you wanted the special blade rift to operate. Also, does the blade rift remind anybody else of the Blade Storm skill in POE? Blade Rift and Blade Storm are two of my favorite skills in both Hades and POE.
i hate it when things are inograble
Looking forward to when pally finds out what he gets to spend titans blood on he'll be so hyped
Loving the hades series Pally!
hey Pally, Blade Rifts used to be BUSTED in the beta. You could add a homing effect, and you could increase the aoe effect by like 50%. They're still pretty good but you gotta re-think your playstyle.
The "Spinning Ares thing" as you'd call it, is actually quite OP but requires very specific builds. There's about 2-3 ways to make it work. One is with the sword, one with the fists and one is a something I don't want to spoil. There's a fourth with the bow but that's more experimental.
Both sword and Fists work on a similar degree – You basically are looking for very specific boons mostly from Ares, Artemis and Hermes and more importantly Chaos' boons. They have boons that increase cast damage by 40-60% or can give you an extra crystal to work with. Ares can increase cast damage by about 10% and give longer duration and a pull-in effect to the cast. Artemis can give crit chance for each instance of damage and there's a rare upgrade that gives you extra 2 crystals. If you max out the crystal mirror upgrade you can have 3 casts alternatively you can use the 3 sec recharge variant on your cast. Technically if you can get extra crystals the 3 sec recharge is MUCH better, but it's far from guaranteed that you'll get extra crystals. Hermes btw gives you extra crystals occasionally too or an increased cast speed or just more money with side-hustle to buy boons. There is an EXTREMELY rare boon that requires you to have Ares/Artemis boons already that gives a homing effect to the cast which changes how it works significantly. It's really good but not necessary for the build to work.
You can also pair this with Charon's keepsake the Bone Hourglass. There's a well item that increases cast damage by quite a bit and with the increased duration you can keep it up for a lot of chambers, however this requires some luck and also you want to use the Ares/Artemis/Chaos keepsakes to get boons from them.
Kinda feel Sorry for hades and NYx honestly kinda feel he is being an ass because his son runs away and wants to leave him forever and just is bad at showing it
Just a theory Ofc
Love how the story advances after attempted runs and how far you get
Love to see the every single day.
Skelly gives you a second "second chance" trinket. A tooth. You can swap to it after a boss if you lose your first second chance. Really useful if you're trying to opush further to learn more. I got to the 3rd boss on my second attempt on the biome after the hydra. Took the trinket that increases unmodded abilities for floor one, 3% health drops for floor two then the tooth for floor three. That third boss is quite the fight for a first timer.
I would say don’t give up on the blade rift buuuuuuut. Blade rift is really hard to use. You’d need a lot of extra boons to make it more usable imo.
Dusa best girl!
The tripple doom spear is pretty baller, and very Ares.
it amazes me how they managed to create a somewhat new story out of all the mythology that exists about greek gods.
This game's so good.
Also i love watching you play rogue like games, you always seem to find ways to squeeze power out of the characters.
My first clear was with shield. Took Arthemis and Zeus. When having certain boons from them later i got a DUO of them. My cast crystals doing dmg (bolts) when on the ground. So basically just shoot your casts and hold the charge and block everything, while the crystals do their job.
Ofc my next clears were with other wpns and when you get the hang of it, the only thing thats left, is to increase the difficulty. :)… and have fun!
For someone who likes theorycrafting pally often sees something and then only thinks of one use for it.
