i'm surprised convenience fee isn't lower on the list i've been using that one for low heat and just avoiding gold/shops
I honestly don't udnerstand CHAOS ASPECT in today's game version.
It sucks. Not as much as Stygius Zagreus for example, but enough to be the least usable shield.
How is everyone avoiding talking about bobbing for apples, that's the real content here.
I really regreted hell mode because I can't turn off the calisthenics program. It really makes a huge difference I can't just dash and kill, I have to dash, stand and kill. It's really hard when you start at Tartarus. I always use lvl 1 tight deadline because of this. I'm at 30 heat maxing out EM and forced overtime, for me is a good practice.
would jury summons be the only 'positive' heat since it can increase gold drop from increased enemy numbers?
I've gotten 32 on Demeter Fists, Nemesis Sword, Arthur and Zagreus Spear (Painful run, would not recommend). A pretty good setup for melee if you can play fast is Hermes trinket and Ruthless Reflex on max tight deadline. Don't take EM 4, Calisthenics or Jury Summons. Damage Control is whack too. You might get cheesed by Styx on the time limit but it's worth the risk to be a nonstop offensive beast with (up to) 100% dodge chance, provided you get the rare or epic Hermes dodge boon and can dash with precision. Seeing a lot of ranged weapon comments so figured I'd drop some melee tips
I started with the trap damage and kept getting cucked on hades by the green jars as my first heat punishment yikes. Took me a while to figure out why it was one shotting me lmao
I think I've spent more hours watching your videos than actually playing the game. Learned a lot from you. Thanks!
Really needed this, nearing my first 8 heat run and this makes it easier to think about pacts i should go for! Love your content man!
you were right, i definitely did not beat 32 heat on my first try. but i did it on my second! the guide as well as just watching your past high heat videos helped a lot. any plans to do a 32+ heat guide?
Fantastic video. I'm learning so much from your channel at the moment, especially from your overexplained video. Hopefully you'll do some more for the other weapons.
When I heard him saying you won't pass heat 32 1st try I bet with a friend that the amount of people bragging about how they 1st try it would be giant, never disappointed with the internet community feeling the need to tell everyone how good they are!
I enjoy your guides and videos! Been very informative for pushing harder content in the game.
You da best
I don't touch jury summons. It makes elysium so difficult.
I'm surprised your mirror video is not in the guides playlist.
You said I wouldn't get it first try, so I just tried it and got it first try. 3 DD left too.
20:43 unless you play Hestia hehe :3
haelian is a bible
Very nice! I am currently struggling for 32 heat, your video arrives at time ! Hope you'll do some video about boons !
I find that Forced Overtime is by far the most difficult of the optional pacts. My first attempts at 32 heat I had it on, and it's so much worse than any of the others, particularly in Elysium. Some chambers with Benefits Package+Jury Summons become much more difficult with that extra speed, and the minotaur is a lot harder if you don't have 3+ dashes. Take Hard Labor over it any day. Sure if you get hit with maxed Hard it hurts more, but you will get hit way more often when enemies are faster.
Surprised Eris was not mentioned for build recommendations…
Just beat 32 yesterday with chiron and after 20ish attempt and after that run with fist for the first time …. But used tottaly hardcore 32 heat set up with purge and -2 boon choice . This game is so much fun with a wide range of difficulty.
Im 32 hours into the game, had about 45 escape attempts and I still couldnt beat Hades…
Nice guide
Very comprehensive guide; thanks for putting it together! I'm still trying to work up the gumption to tackle EM3, though. I also feel even better now about my decision to prioritize maxing out Hestia and Chiron; love those weapons. Chaos Shield is next!
I find it a little amusing calling the layers of hell as "Biomes". It's a way to put it.
Bruh looks like a zombie
All I learned from this video and these comments is that everybody else except me are doing it wrong and my strats are actually safer, faster, and more damage 🙂
Getting lightning rod works pretty well for me when i get overwhelmed and just have to focus on dodging
"You wont beat 32 heat on your first try"
The luckiest Eris Rail run in existence would like to say hi. I got Sea Storm in asphodel and then posieden gave me a replacement attack. Rocket bomb + cluster bomb with aphro special. Divine dash and athena call and billowing.
this came just in time for me, been running 32 heat all day today with a merciful end build losing to hades most times, or flame wheels. gonna get rid of the 4th extreme measures didnt know about the health thing, thought it was just bigger adds spawned and the heal thing
Just beat 32 heat on my 3rd try thanks for the advice
I beat 32 heat on my first try lol zues shield op
When I first did heat, I added maxed hard labor, jury summons, and forced overtime because I thought "eh, it's the same game just harder". Then I maxed out damage control. I'm current stuck on the 5 minute deadline for Tight Deadline, but I just watched this video and I realized my order is super weird.
I've been spamming EM3-4 on every weapon as a new player and find it way easier than the options you mentioned for starting out.
I'm still trying out lower Heat levels, but I feel like EM1 is a good choice for 1 Heat. It only affects one fight, and it's not that much harder than normal. Damage Control is also pretty trivial for builds with fast attacks.
For 2 Heat, I found Benefits Package easier than Middle Management. Even if BP affects many more encounters, I don't feel like they're much more difficult, while MM can easily cost you a Death Defiance. (Although you can argue it's best to learn these fight faster.)
For 3 Heat, I didn't find Forced Overtime 1 that tough, but I imagine combining that with Jury Summons and Hard Labor can be real scary.
Hmm! Great guide! I actually think Heightened Security isn't too hard, I've been using it in my 1-3 Heat runs so far.
Those graphics are awful. What's this 2d candy colored seizure causing shit?
This was so fucking well planned and articulated – my mind is blown
hey there, thanks for the guide!
No offense, but you wouldn't put extreme measures 1-3 (with middle management to fill the gaps) as the initial pacts to take? EM1 is the biggest hurdle early on, but it's not so bad as an early check. EM2 is arguably easier than the base boss fight depending on your build because of the positioning. EM3 is similarly not much harder than the base boss fight if you know the movement patterns, you just have to take more care of Asterius (but Theseus is actually easier). EM4 isn't even that hard if your build is pretty good, and another easy pact option. If you use EM4 and middle management with Persephone's keepsake, you should be able to consistently clear 12+ heat with whatever weapon aspect you want and build you get (granted you know boss patterns) just based on the ease of normal rooms.
This was actually awesome, I like how you explained how certain pacts are affected by your weapon and aspect choice. Thanks damp dad!
This guide helped a lot for selecting the best pacts! I did 32 heat on my second try because of this. Got really lucky with a doom build Chiron aspect bow run!
After watching you play, I gave a Chiron build a shot for my first attempt at 16 heat (previous high was 9), and I absolutely obliterated the run. Full death defiance at the end. Gonna give 32 heat a shot tonight. Thanks for the tips!
Another thing not mentioned is Demerer on Chiron. Building around Arctic Blast is really good.
I started doing the pact runs recently and this guide is very helpful! I'm still in the first heat levels, but this is going to help me a lot in avoiding pacts that are going to make the game too hard.
