Hades – Good Riddance Rock Cover by Lacey Johnson

Hey Everyone! Happy Friday! I’m back with another Hades cover! This song is one that’s been in the back of my head for a long time and I knew I wanted to make a cover, but I knew I wanted to create a very different vibe from the haunting vocals of the original. I had the thought to make it hardcore and it changed so much of the emotion of the lyrics and everything grew from there. I am so proud of the arrangement and all of the tones I was able to get in the process. I hope you enjoy as well!

  1. Just finished my first (successful) escape attempt! This hits especially because of that – and man, what a great & unique cover! You never fail to impress

Edit: seriously, my favorite song you've done yet

  2. There really is something to be said about how versatile this song is. When Eurydice sings it, it’s honestly pretty content. She’s glad to be done with the stresses of life and just hang out in Hades, even if she’s in the fiery depths, it’s easier then the life she lived before. Orpheus tho, sings the same song with melancholy, and it feels totally different. And of course it’s meaning is once again different when turned into the rock ballad we got here.

  3. You made me discover Hades with your cover of Out of Tartarus
And wow, what a great game I'm super glad that I got to play it !
Anyway you nailed the cover as usual ! Keep it up !

  4. That guitar riff (at the start and then throughout) is so dope!! You did a great job.
I can't say I like the original song but your rock cover is 🔥
Specifically like the black paint on your hands while doing vocals is a nice touch, is it a reference to the game (that I keep telling myself I need to play asap)?
