  1. He raped Persephone. But all the gods did that too. None of the gods were “good”, they were “godly humans”. Hamilton explains it pretty well in her book, best I remember. Give it a read.

  2. Regarding the first part. We actually see that in Blood of Zeus. When we finally see Hades when he's been absent the entire time the after life across the River Styx is cut in half.
One side is a burning hell scape the other is a peaceful meadow.

But it's just funny to me. Growing up we were taught that Hades was the bad guy. But as adults we find out Hades is the most benevolent Greek god that's making the most out of a bad situation.

He has his own kingdom. His own privacy. He's got a wife that he loves. I do believe he has a few kids but I could be wrong. And his job is extremely important.
As the God of Death it's his job to make sure every soul gets properly judged and rewarded or punished.

Death Gods do have one of the most important jobs when you think about it. Bc life is temporary but death is eternal.

Meanwhile Poseidon and Zeus are the worst of them all. Poseidon basically raped his wife and Zeus kept banging every chick he came across and cursed or killed their husbands.

    Zeus has what? 30 kids?

  3. Hades is also basically the god of minerals too people forgot that part so all gems, and precious minerals like gold, iron, and stuff like that all comes from hades because he is the god of the underworld yes but also technically the god of land it’s just he doesn’t leave the underworld often so that parts overlooked plus his wife Penelope actually loved him and he never cheated on her or did anything to anyone against their will like Zeus and Poseidon plus he was absolutely fair as long as you knew your place and treated the gods with respect he was one of the very few gods that rewarded his believers justly it’s just people feared him because if they were crappy people he made sure you were punished in the afterlife and you’d only really be able to rest peacefully after dying a hero or being a good human being and most people just like today didn’t fit that description 100% so most feared they’d go to tartarus so overall he’s just massively misunderstood plus we’ve demonized him in later years because of the fact he could punish you in the afterlife
