Hades Lore FOR BEGINNERS!

Hades 2 early access is here, but if you havenโ€™t played the first game and looking to jump into Melinoรซโ€™s journey Iโ€™ve got you covered with everything youโ€™ll need to know in order to enjoy Supergiantโ€™s Greek Mythos. No spoilers for Hades 2.

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiantโ€™s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

  1. Entertaining even though i 100% the game
Thanks Jessie, it is very well done and will definitely help anyone who want to start with 2
Although i recommend anyone and everyone at least try Hades 1
It is a masterpiece of art, music, and storytelling! โ˜บ๏ธ

  2. BLESS YOU JESSE!
As someone who's not that great with rogue-like's and don't really WANT to play them, I have been DYING to know about the lore in general for Hades, the Game version at least, without watching a super long Let's Play!

We all need to celebrate Jen Zee [and the rest of the art team!] for the freaking amazing art and being responsible for making EVERYONE so ridiculously hot. Hehehe.

  3. A detail from the end of the game that I really enjoy is how Zagreus ends up becoming the "Security Inspector" of the Underworld, finally finding a vocation in his father's realm as the one guy who keeps trying to escape and find faults in Hades' defenses. Of course, that also gives the game a justification for the post-ending rogue-like loops, but it really just fits his rebellious character so well.

  4. if you're questioning whether you should play either of these games before you have the entire story spoiled for you in this video, just do it! you won't regret it! play both games and play them in order, I implore you!!

Supergiant makes some of the best games EVER made, you don't want the experience ruined for you. They only have 5 games, don't let them pass you by, they're masterpieces.

  5. I love how the Greek pantheon's mythology is basically just high school drama with literal gods and demi-gods. I imagine the mortals are like the junior high kids the older kids bully.

  6. This was super helpful! I watched some streams of people playing Hades as roguelikes are just not my thing to play, but I didnโ€™t stick around to see how the story develops once you defeat Hades etc. Thanks Jesse!

  7. If you've never played Hades, just do it. Despite the repetition, it's fun, action-packed, fast, and very enjoyable. You'll likely put at least 80-100 hours into it if you wanna get around to doing a full completion.

  8. It's not the sexiness I don't get…
    Or the story…
    Or the art…
    It's the gameplay!
    What a stressful chore!
I'd love to experience all that other stuff but not when it's basically Reflex based bullet hell… I'm not young enough to git gud at this.
