Temples were rather not built for him – we know of one erected for him by the Eleans in gratitude for the defense of Pylos against Heracles and several temples of Pluto. Hades rarely appeared on Earth. If he was there, he usually wore a dog-hide hat that made him invisible. Hades was a good husband and brother. He hardly rebelled against Zeus. Frequent attacks and attempts to conquer the throne of heaven were made by Poseidon, who could not accept the fact that it was his younger brother who got heaven. In cinematography, however, the image of Hades as a recalcitrant ruler who plots against Zeus persists, which is far from the imagination of the ancients. As already mentioned, Hades was a faithful husband – he did not have many mistresses, as other gods used to. He only fell in love with the nymph Minte once. When Persephone found out about this, she was jealous and turned the nymph into mint[2].
