The backstab build seems to be rather unreliable – the only way to guarantee multiple successful hits is to stunlock the enemies, and armored ones will turn around to face you on a dime. And the fact it doesn't work at all vs. Hydra is even worse.
Doc if you're sticking to mouse and keyboard I'd recommend binding your Cast to Q and your Secondary to Right Click. You'll find that you'll be using secondary attack more often than Cast anyways.
