I think descend just costs health to get a strong boon from Nyx?
Descend isn't a skip to the next area, it takes you to a special chamber with a new character to get boons from
it costs health cause the boons are really good
Descend allows you to visit Chaos. Who will offer you a rather rewarding boon that has a downside for 3-4 turns. Always, always, always visit Chaos for well….maximum Chaos I guess.
You descended into chaos in champer 1. Now you won't be able to get the banana needed for the true ending in chapter five.
