  1. One suggestion I'd like to make is literally anything from the soundtrack of the original Nier, which was the precursor to the much more well known Nier: Automata. My personal favorites are "Song of the Ancients" (either the Devola or Popola version, though the duet version is amazing, and only available as the conclusion of a series of fetch quests across the game world.), "Shadowlord's Castle – Roar", or "Yonah" (again, any version).

It was a game made by noted industry crazy-man Yoko Taro, and he not only got an entire philharmonic orchestra to play it, but had an entire fake language made up so the songs had lyrics. It's honestly an amazing experience.

  2. Great reaction, and glad you enjoyed the song so much! It was great hearing your analysis of all the nuanced musical details as well. Darren Korb never, ever misses. Hope you had a nice holiday season and got a chance to dive into Hades; it's an amazing game. Cheers!

  3. When playing the game, you don't really get the time to appreciate the OST as much as when you just sit down and listen to it like this. It really is a great piece of music. Fitting to follow one of the best characters in the game.

  4. The first sound reminds me of "oud" instrument which very popular here in middle east/Arabic music.

I just discovered your channel and I've been binge watching you react to my fav games soundtracks : Bloodborne, Hades, silent hill, undertale, zelda, FF !!

Thank you for the awesome content : D

  5. The beauty of this OST is how simple it is as far as musical fundamentals. It's the execution and creativity in how they do it that makes it so unique and hard to match.
I do hope he ended up playing Hades, if only for reliving 5:19– "…hello, Meg."

  6. Imagine this. I felt like you felt in this video, in literally every single piece in this ost.. its just how crazy good it is. And it also mirrors how good the game is on all levels. Its such a great package that the enjoyment that comes from the music, only skyrockets more when you blend it with the gameplay loop. Pure madness. Possibly the best metal album ever made for a game in our era.

  7. Scourge of the Furies is a litteral masterpiece of brutality and savageness, this one is perfect for the characters it depicts. Savage, untamed, and with absolutly no mercy for you ! That's everything about those furies πŸ™‚
And its in my opinion the best theme of the entire game for that matter. If you don't like this theme, you probably have big problems.
