I fucking love Hades because I easily get bored with games, like I love a lot of games, but they got me sleeping 30 hours in. Hades has story as you die, and it’s so fun to see the new conversations, you can raise the difficulty at your own pace later on, you don’t even feel the time passing by which is bonkers for me, there are multiple weapons with upgrades, the killing of enemies feels satisfying and i don’t get mad at the game but myself because fucking up is entirely your fault in this game. The music and visual is a huge plus as well. The characters are incredibly charming as well, reading the subreddit really solidifies the fact that it beat people’s expectations to a pulp over the course of the game. I easily got 60+ hours this month and I know I would have more if I didn’t have so many RESPONSIBILITIES. I got it with the Supergiants bundle, and I can’t wait to play the rest!
Skooch!I have an idea for a new Bronze Theory! It is Electrocute Urgot ADC.Listen closely,Urgot hhas a lot of damage with passive and W so by building Manamune, boots, Death's Dance and if you got the balls Umbral Glave you can shred ADCs eeeaaaasily. If you have a support with a hook(preferably Pyke 'cause of his agressive playstyle)and they land their hook you can go ahead and use E to stun, Q to lock on them, and W to destroy them with Electrocute. It's really agressive and fun so i realy hope you try it out.Bye 😀
This man didn't even mention risk of rain 2 smh
Anyone else get a spanish ad on this vid?
hades is rogue lite, not roguelike
Artemis, goddess of crit and abuser of the bow special
But what about Spelunky 2?
so technically
Minecraft is roguelike if you only play hardcore?
on paper, it looks very cool. But on paper almost everything does.
This pleases me greatly! Okay, don't take this as advertising or anything, 'cause I don't make a penny off it, but I want you and all of your followers to know that I analyze, write out, and discuss this game, its many choices, meta choices, how I optimize my gameplay to quickly build up metacurrencies (the currencies that stay with you between runs) and still build up a lot of in-run power, and general nerdy gushing on the SwitchRPG Discord, which, incidentally, is also the healthiest, most friendly, and most helpful (especially in the senses of following deals and providing reliable reviews and insight) gaming community I've ever met, and I've been in *a lot*. Everyone's welcome to join!
Also, Switch players, a patch has come out for the PC version of Hades and should hit us soon, presumably in the first half of this month (but don't hold anyone to that; we're talking Nintendo, here).
5:58 Spoiler Warning. Just saying. I got booped too. Watch out. Please include a spoiler warning before the spoilers next time, thanks
It went on sale and i didn't hesitate to get this on my Switch. Ty Skooch.
I personally think this negates roguelikes. Why? Because I see them as more akin to story's you'r witnessing thanks to a book, a video or even a bard! And well, just as real life, some times, they story doesn't up with the main character rushing through life with the best of luck, but through strength and willpower or well, you know, he perishes. I think that just adds something to the game. Remember as DF say's "Losing is fun"
I disagree, part of the fun in roguelikes is taking a crappy hand dealt to you and seeing if you can still win.
Also most roguelikes already solve this issue through class choices like Tales of Maj'Eyal.
Hey if you happen to like want to say more about Hades, just for fun cause this was already a blast, idk but I would yknow probably watch the shit out of it
Hey Skooch, idk how often you hear this but thank you for always making quality content for us to enjoy, I always get really happy when I see a new upload from you no matter the topic!
I'm not usually too big on roguelikes but I really like hades.
Wizard of legend is good too :))
Im just gonna say…Dusa best waifu.
3:25 TURN THAT TUNE UP BOII i rlly hope he plays pkmn 3 would love to watch that
Yes there is rogue like rythm games. Like Bullets Per Minute, how could you forget about THAT O_o ??
I learned about this game from a Priestess of Cthulu. Nice to see a lot of other people making content about this great game too!
On the same note, whats your opinnion on Risk of Rain (2) ?
AUTISM TIME: HADES IS NOT A ROGUELIKE. Roguelikes are/have: grid-based worlds, turn-based mechanics, and permadeath (no item carryover). No grid? RogueLITE Not turn based? RogueLITE. Item carryover? ROGUELITE. Roguelikes: Tales of Majeyal, Caves of Qud, Nethack. RogueLITES: Binding of Isaac and Hades.
EDIT: Damn skunk head if you cant learn to adapt to bad RNG then the genre of roguelikes is not for you. The fun comes from the randomness. If you want to be a god every run just use cheat engine, because you clearly have no interest in learning to adapt with the tools given to you. A game giving you too many tools is worse than a game giving you a few with a wide variety of applications. Maybe the hair dye makes you a little slow in the noodle.
So… if I have the time and not the money, I should still get the game?
dr2c: bruh
I just love to watch you speak about anything
Yes but have you played SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising
This game is fucking awesome. I'm having a blast

Skooch: THE MAJOROTY OF THE PEOPLE ARENT SUBSCRIBED
I think borderlands 2 and the bl franchise in general should try this ''adaptive difficulty''. in true vault hunter everything gets oneshot by a bandit white pistol but in ultimate the most basic enemy can tank 2 norfleet shots -_-
You're wrong.
Wrong about what? Nearly everything.
-First, and most importantly, every single game you have mentioned in this video is NOT a roguelike, with the exception of Rogue itself. They are rogue𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙨, which are games that feature procedural generation, and sometimes permadeath, but not other important elements of the roguelike genre.
-The Binding of Isaac is not the game responsible for the relatively recent growth of the genre – Spelunky is. This is a well known fact within the roguelike/roguelite community.
-Rogue was not the first roguelike. Beneath Apple Manor was the first commercial game that is considered to be a roguelike.
-Quite a few people played Rogue, and many of them are very much still around (like me). Hell, you can get it on Steam for $3.
-Of the 478 roguelikes/lites on Steam, significantly less than 95% would classify as a "banger." This one is pretty petty, sure, but I don't care.
-Your definition of roguelike omitted turn-based gameplay, tile-based graphics, and RPG mechanics.
-Roguelikes aren't necessarily short. My current UnReal World character has been alive for 22 hours, just under half the 48 hour playtime of "Dragon Quest 76."
-RNG is not a glaring issue; it's something you don't like. Considering random chance an issue because you don't like it is about as valid of a critique as me insulting you instead of puuting forth the effort to explain your deficiencies is. Furthermore, Hades itself has a fair bit of RNG.
-Plenty of roguelike/lites start you with predetermined weapons, and have multiple playstyles that you can choose. One could make a good case that the very games you mention mentioned earlier – The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon – would fit this description.
-Character traits are nothing new. Caves of Qud, for instance, gives you a plethora of options, and fits the previous point as well.
-Giving you a choice in your character progression is also nothing new. Not only does nearly every roguelike/lite game do this, nearly every role playing game in general does this.
-If nearly everything can synergize with everything else regardless of your build, can you really call it a build?
-Being able to choose the way the game gets harder, while very cool, is not exclusive to Hades. Supergiant themselves have done this previously.
-The combinations are not literally endless. There are ~180,000 combinations.
Please do your research next time.
Note: I don't hate Hades in the slightest, so please don't let that be your takeaway here.
buw what about Risk of Rain 1 and 2?
I clicked the video in the video. I'm cool now, right?
Synthetik does a lot of that
