A greek-flavoured rock song, inspired by Supergiant’s Hades and by themes of quarantine & longing for the outside world.

LYRICS:
Amid these shades
Forever drifting nowhere
Ever kept confined
Outside the gates
A taste of freedom so rare
Worlds I long to find
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
A friend afar
A shared and fleeting moment
Calling out in vain
I see no stars
Aligned they keep us frozen
Fated to remain
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
Stone cracks
Building the walls back
Keep track
Waiting for the day
To stride
Out of the inside
Far far away
I can hear the distant calls
There is no easy way out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
There is so much more beyond these walls
There is no easy way, out of here
There is no easy way, persevere
Far far away

A lot of people wanted this one, so I'm glad the game was inspiring 🙂 It was easy in 2020 to relate to the theme of being inside, wanting to experience life in the big wide open world…

When did Hadestown get so cool?
Those lines around 2:36 gave me flashbacks to our Bastion song.
I wonder what he would come up with for the "Homeworld" series of games? I have a feeling he would knock it out of the park.
As someone who grew up in greece and always had a love for mythology and culture in general, the fact that you went as far as to get the instruments so right is just perfect my dude!
Glorious, I started jamming to this song in moments.
Honestly this song really speaks to me. I've always felt trapped at home, especially now, for many reasons. Beyond just covid. My family is religious, I'm not anymore. They mostly still think I'm straight and cis and am going to grow up and have a family. But in reality I'm a pansexual aromantic nonbinary trans girl who's only just now figuring herself out. I can hear the distant calls. But right now I can't be myself, drifting nowhere, kept confined. And until I'm out on my own and financially independent, I don't know how much I'll be able to be myself. I don't know if my parents would do anything, but I'm still scared. There is no easy way out of here, there is no easy way, persevere. There is so much more I can be but right now I feel trapped and not understood. There is so much more beyond these walls. Your music honestly makes me feel awesome, it's uplifting and energizing and motivating and reminds me to persevere and I am fabulous as hell and nobody, not even the forces of hell itself, can stop me. Thanks, Gavin. Keep rocking.
thank you
I love this!! ^_^
Why do we build the wall, my children?
I never heard about this game but now I absolutely have to check it out. Awesome song as always!
P.S. Please do something for Genshin Impact <3
Those instrumental and vocal harmonies….. Pure gold. It's amazing how better your production get since the time I've first heard your music
If I ever start reviewing games, I would love to use this song for the video, as this is what sold me on the game.
This may just be the greatest song you’ve made yet, I just can’t stop listening to it. It just sounds so… I cant even begin describe how amazing it is. The lyrics, the instrumental, the video, it just creates the the kind of music that makes you feel like an immortal warrior, which perfectly fits the game. Sorry about the somewhat-long rant, I just didn’t expect the song to be so… empowering and inspirational. Either way, I hope you have a fantastic day because you’ve sure as hell made mine, pun fully intended this time.
There is no easy way out of here
there is only
THE PAINFUL WAY
Time to send this to Darren. He would surely appreciate your follow-up on his Mediterranean Halloween-rock. I definitely screwed up the "official" name for this style of music, but it doesn't matter.
That was pretty awesome
Never realized how much I needed metal lyre until now. Blown away by this song and the game, great work.
I like that gav showed himself it parts of the video.
Oh this is fantastic!!! Bravo! Where did you get that bouzouki!? Its gorgeous!
When song will be on spotify <3 <3 <3 <3
Absolutely amazing as always
You've got a private video in your general Miracle of Sound Songs playlist at position 3~
Can’t wait for your song for assassins creed Valhalla
I know absolutely nothing about the game itself, but I like what I’m seeing from this absolute banger of a song
Glorious success
Great song, Gav
Like always
hey gav, are people allowed to use your music on streams?
Really loved the reference to your Bastion song!
Great, now I'm going to be disappointed anytime I hear a rock song without a buzuki. Gav why do you need to spoil us like this?
Absolute banger, well done.
Alright, I'll get the game.
Perfect song for this year of quarantines, time to beat it and be over with it…
Awesome as always
Thanks for making this amazing song, I looked into the game and it looked awesome so I bought it on my switch. Thanks for introducing me to the game and as always this was an epic song.
Gavin are you a bard in DnD because I can tell you max your charisma ; D
After hearing "I can hear the calls…" I was expecting "…of Olympus halls." I was so glad to have been wrong.
This song has stuck itself in my brain, and I've just been randomly starting to sing the chorus at random moments.
But, that just goes to show how good this is.
