Blade is the first weapon you will find yourself using, but it’s definitely not the most starter-friendly. Blade requires a knowledge of your opponents’ attack timings, their weaknesses and a general sense of god synergies to really work effectively. I think it’s the most difficult weapon to use Hades has on offer.

Blade is the stereotypical take all comers weapon, allowing for an impressive amount of player creativity and expression in its run: every playstyle is represented among blade’s aspects. It’s common practice for the beginner weapon to be both easy and versatile, yet Supergiant does away with this trope in Hades: Stygius is arguably the most difficult weapon to use in the whole game, and it certainly isn’t the strongest one.
