That's Hades at the end. You're playing as Melinoe the daughter of Hades.
I think this is zagreus' daughter
The main character is Melinoë, Hades and Persephone's daughter and sister of Zagreus. The woman in the hat she was fighting is Hecate (I believe her mentor/teacher).
Nice to see Apollo; I hope we get to see the other 3 olympians that didn't show up in the first game. being: Hephaestus, Hestia and Hera.
The voice in the end is Hades, that's also him being in shackles there. Looks like Kronos overtook the powers in the Tartarus and got papa Hades in quite the bind. Wonder what happened to Zagreus.
Greek mythology is filled with so many tales and characters that Supergiant can use to expand their Hades universe, so I’m excited to see where this one takes us. A few notes from this trailer:
As others mentioned, it seems confirmed that Melinoë is the female MC. She definitely seems to be fighting Hecate, the goddess of magic (and both of them are aligned with the moon). There seems to be some confusion about Melinoë’s father in the original myths, though Persephone is consistently cited as her mother… some writings say Hades is her dad, while others claim her dad is Zeus. I would guess that Supergiant might play with that a bit like they did with Zagreus… in his case, some writings have him as his own character while others claimed him to be an aspect of Dionysus (the reason for Zag and Dio deciding to prank Orpheus by telling him they’re the same person, but Orpheus being taken in so much by it that he still believes it even after Zag reveals they were joking).
Where is Zagreus? I hope he does play a role here at some point… but that’s definitely Hades in chains at the end. The Kronos mentioned is a Titan and the father of the first generation of Olympians (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia and Demeter)… who famously ate all of his children except Zeus (who was saved through trickery by his mother). When Zeus was grown, he returned and forced Kronos to regurgitate his siblings and they all overthrew their father… imprisoning him along with the rest of the Titans. Sounds like Kronos has been freed and is seeking revenge…
Other characters shown in the trailer include Moros and Nemesis, both of whom are children of Nyx which means they are siblings of Than and Hypnos. And then there’s Dora, shown both in a scary and cute mode… no confirmation, but a lot of people are wondering if her name is a shortening of the name Pandora (like Dusa being a shortening of Medusa). That name is important not because of the music streaming service, but because of the myth of Pandora’s Box (or Jar, to be truer to the original).
I’m very hyped for the potential here, and can’t wait to fully participate in the early access this time around. 😄

Nemesis and Moros are two more children of Nyx. One of the sword aspects that Zagreus used was the Aspect of Nemesis.
Hello new Subscriber, in the trailer and dialogues of supergiant this is an obituary where the younger sister of Zagreus is the protagonist, Hades was captured by Kronos the grandfather of Zagreus and Zagreus possibly died permanently or is protecting Persefone and the others of Kronos, Melinoe meanwhile tries to free Hades and defeat Kronos, Hades mentions that Kronos cannot be arrested, maybe Zag tried to stop him and failed and Hades was destroyed by Zag's death. This work is shown to be in a timeskip because Melinoe seems to be the age of Zag in the first game and maybe in the course of the game when Melinoe was a girl Kronos was freed Zagreus sacrificed hiself so that she could escape from Kronos and Hecate was training her, in the game they call her Witch, in mythology she is the goddess of ghosts.

Kronos is the father of the gods (zeus, hades etc). He is also known as the god of time. It looks like Hades daughter melinoe is on a mission to stop kronos and save hades 🤩🤩🤩 so excited!
Nemesis is the God of Revenge.
It makes me wonder if having to restart from the beginning would be Cronos power, as he *is* time. If would fit the lore nicely alongside the game's rogue-lite design. Nothing is better than when the lore and mechanics are so tightly woven together you can't tell exactly where one end and the other begins.
Also, it is confirmed to be a sequel to the previous game's events, so Melinoë is Zag's younger sister. And there's one more sibling yet not seen (in mythology) and she is a *mortal* at first to boot, so she could start the game from the mortal world, something we haven't seen so far. Hades III? One can dream! 😉

In case you're still wondering, the MC is Melinoe, Goddess of Ghosts. She's the daughter of Hades and Persephone (likely conceived after Hades I), and Zag's sister.
The character she's fighting in the beginning animation is Hecate, Goddess of Magic and Witches, who also seems to be Melinoe's mentor.
The God that was chained up is Hades (you can tell by the beard).
